I think they WOULD have eaten half a chicken if allowed! They are little piggies.

@msolga,
I can't photograph them yet, but Sebastian looks a bit like this, only fluffier and fatter:

Only he looks happy, not worried.

@msolga,
Actually, I was glad to find some fubsy kitten pictures, because I was thinking that these little guys just couldn't ever become slender and elegant!

Siamese kittens at the same age look like ballerinas...these two are little woolly carthorses!!

@msolga,
The wool is tres weird!!! I think it settles down a bit as they get older...as I said earlier, right now Sebastian looks like a cat in a wool jumpsuit...his wool is like the second photo, as is Viola's.

Sheep-cats....baaaaah!

@dlowan,
Those sample Rex kittens do look sturdier than modern Siamese and orientals. They look solid around the rib cage - not fragile. It will be interesting to follow along withViola and Sebastian's development.

It reads as though there's a whole new cat experience in front of you!

That was the clincher.

I am wary of this whole cats inside all their lives thing, and I think it cruel for someone away as much as I am to have just one of a naturally sociable and intelligent cat...but two lots of Siamese fur in my 85 square metres ....oy veh!!

I got the closest thing to a Siamese that I can get, but almost no shedding.

It's weird having one cat without blue eyes as it is!

@ehBeth,
Their bodies are supposed to be solid and muscular, but shaped like a whippet...that is with a pronounced curve up to the back legs.

Their legs are supposed to get as long and slender as the Siamese, and to have that oriental look.

But they are more solid, and they eat like pigs...you have to watch that. I have only ever had one Siamese who ate too much...and he was a porker! They are intensely active...which I am seeing...thank god they have each other!

They have galloped off somewhere together while I type, but mainly they have been speeding around me, like the tigers who turned to butter (in one of the Epamimondas stories, I think?)

How on earth will anyone know you have a cat -let alone 2 beauties.

All my clothes have at least some cat hair - no matter how much I brush, etc.!

And get on with the photos, already.....

@margo,
When I am there they won't keep still for a second!! I have tried and got several black blurs. I have one remotely passable one of Viola.

@dlowan,
Ok...some positive news on the Miranda front.

She is still growling and spitting when she sees kittens, but not as much. Also, she will let me comfort her, and will purr and smooch with me.

Viola clearly REALLY^ wants t connect with Miranda, and just quietly and persistently moves near her and stays there. She gives as good as she gets when growled and hissed at, but mainly looks at M very pleasantly.

M is beginning to look for her a bit when she can't see her. I can tell she us curious under all that bluster.

@dlowan,
Peace reigns...for now

Kittens put themselves to bed so I closed door

Miranda now knows this means she is safe from them, so she came out to talk to me and eat and such.

Sorry to be so obsessive with posting but I am so anxious about Miranda!

@dlowan,
Aw, it's OK, Deb.
No need for any apologies.
I'd be incredibly anxious in the same circumstances, too!
You must be exhausted by now.

Your concern for Miranda is understandable. You know I've been worrying about this halfway around the world. It's not as bad as I feared.

I viewed the texture of the rex coat with great interest. Is it velvety? Wooly? Silky?

Bit like very soft wool

Ever felt an alpaca?

That is the closest I can come

I can see that, I think! (Dlowan sent me this and asked if I could post it for her.)
