That little devil.

Of course you are allowed to laugh. You would not have been had there been anything other than wee for him to get covered with, though.

@dlowan,
Quote:
This morning, immediately after using the Loo.....fortunately only for liquid relief... I was forced to abandon my post precipitately to attend to a boiling kettle....without performing the usual rituals such as flushing and closing the lid.

Sadly, this was the day Sebastian finally achieved his ambition to fall into the toilet.

He was quite distressed so I hope he is cured of that endeavor.

Oh no!
Poor little thing, he must have been traumatised!

Does this mean you will have to train him, all over again, to be confident about using the Loo ?

I am so glad for you that it was only liquid relief!

You like it as Sebastian likes the loo. He nearly fell in again next time the lid was left open.

Well! He's not the sharpest tool in the shed, is he? (Or is he smart but stubborn?)

Sebastian is a pioneer, an explorer. Surely, minor setbacks like this won't discourage him from boldly going where no cat has gone before!

Jury's still out. He's certainly an intrepid pioneer.

I'm pretty sure cats have been pretty much everywhere.

@dlowan,
Do you think Sebastian is going to be a trainable cat? As I recall, MAB trained one or two of her cats to use the loo, and I think was training them to flush by way of a string from the handle. Things sort of fell apart when a new kitten arrived (new sibling anxiety ...), but I thought it was a great idea at the time.

@ehBeth,
Been wondering about that.

But it's kind of smelly too, unless they learn to flush. Also, he doesn't seem very well coordinated, so he'd likely fall in.

And eat the training materials.

They're pretty happy with their boodaloos. Just wishing they'd soon realize they CAN open the one with the heavier door!

We are completely off the trays with no lids.

Bloody Sebastian came up and drank from the glass of water I gave the real estate agent who was here last night!

@dlowan,
I SO wanted to stay home and hang with cute kittens this morning. They were being immensely engaging, affecionate, calm and non-destructive this morning. Could hardly pull myself away.

of course, when I got up and saw what they had done in the kitchen overnight I felt a little different...but not very. Damage minimal.

You may need to invest in one of those automatic closing ones! (lids, that is!)

@margo,
I think i'm the only automatic closer we're going to have.

Sebastian is a doofus.

Viola would NEVER fall in something twice.....so far she's managed not to fall in anything once.

@dlowan,
Very much enjoing reading along with the trials and tribulations.

We were owned by a Siamese for 14 years - wonderful creature, and we loved our Blue to pieces - but I was terribly allergic, so once he passed, no more kitties. Still miss him ...

@dlowan,
Our kittens like to perch on the toilet seat when you flush and watch the water...and whatever else...swirl. They've never fallen in, though. Sebastian is perhaps a klutz.

By the way, am so excited because a beloved friend is giving me her beautiful black standard poodle that she rescued from the pound only hours before it was to be euthanized, Her name is Billie. She is fully trained, housebroken, highly intelligent, and very loving. How she ever got to the pound is a mystery. Somebody had obviously loved her very much, because she shows no signs, physically or emotionally, of having ever been abused. My friend/sister/angel
and I go back forty years, and this is truly a gift from her heart.
