Years ago I had a malamute pup who, when she was teething, chewed on shoes and the edges of the shelves on a bookcase, and one unfortunate day on a plugged-in extension cord. She shorted it out, all her hair stood on end, and it blew her across the room (I would imagine because her muscles spasmed). Luckily she was unhurt, but she never chewed extensions cords again. She was lucky. I don't think speaker wires carry anywhere near that much juice, but it's still probably not a good idea for Sebastian to experiment--might blow out your speakers or the stereo, even if it doesn't hurt him. I have no idea if this would work, but you might rub a ripe jalapeno or scotch bonnet pepper over the wires (when the stereo is off and unplugged, until it dries), which might discourage him.

@dlowan,
Ok....he jumped in the bath.

Such a drama!!! He had the nerve to come running in here looking at me accusingly, as though I had dropped him in!

@MontereyJack,
I think they mainly chew wires when they are with me on the computer.

ok, if a post of yours stops in midword and the entire internet shorts out, we'll know who to blame.

@MontereyJack,
I had a standard poodle pup who did the same thing. He yelped and ran, but he never chewed a other electrical cord.

@mags314772,
Kittens on balcony today.

Sebastian very fascinated...had a chomp from Miranda's grass.

Nobody made an attempt to leap into the abyss.

@msolga,
Only half full fortunately. As it was he managed to flood half the bathroom....lord knows how.

If it had been full the place would likely have been drowned entirely.

Little buggers are asleep....means they'll wake up when I go to bed...sigh.

Oops....Sebastian has arisen and is seeking amusement.

It was only a matter of time before he finally took the plunge, wasn't it?
What a mischievous little devil he is! Smile

@msolga,
Oh yes.

He can't resist water...he just came scampering into the bathroom when he heard the washing machine doing a rinse cycle...could hear the water.

Couldnt figure out where it was coming from....but gradually zeroed in on machine...can't figure why he can't see the water...he watches it spinning through the glass as though it is TV though.

Back in living room...in tunnel...leaping thrpugh air onto a cabinet...on coffee table eating more sunflower seeds...on sofa....galloping up corridor....

He'd so better settle soon...it's my bedtime.

Very Happy
So what does Viola do while he's scampering all over the place doing crazy things?

@msolga,
Depends.....sometimes she sits and looks stunned, sometimes she is the target and she is desperately fighting him off, sometimes she's as crazy, but not as destructive.

One of sebastians greatest pleasures is the Loo flushing.

He's gonna bloody end up in THERE too one day. Ewwwww.

It might help with the poo problems though.

@dlowan,
kittens love flushing toilets! And unraveling toilet paper. The other day, our girl kitten grabbed the end of the toilet paper, looked up at ,e, and took off with it around the corner.....

@dlowan,
Ok...two slightly used kittens for sale.

Sebastian just did a huge chunder again.....and now Viola has blotted her copybook!

I came out and found her making suspicious covering up waste movements with her paws on a pink plastic bin liner which they had stolen from the counter.....yes, she had pissed into it!!! In the living room!

She had done a perfect job with it....but the very idea!

@dlowan,
And oh joy...I put the bin liner into the laundry trough and left some water running over it to get rid of the piss.

Of course, I forgot about it, the liner blocked the drain, and I have a flooded bathroom.

At least Sebastian is happy about it.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr........

@dlowan,
They do seem to be trying for a trip to New Joisey to visit Uncle Tommy.

@ehBeth,
We prefer to say:"They've gone to a lovely farm in the country where they can run around in the sunshine."
