@ossobuco,
Wanna go out? is also very clear to her, unless she recalcitrantly is wanting a cookie.

They know SOME English! Food, for instance and walk. And good pussy and NO! Sometimes with the no....depends how much they want something.

Anyway, I can't help it if the software is messed up.

Fluent they're not. But I suspect that they understand more than they let on. This applies to many pets. Especially NO and especially cats and NO.

@Roberta,
I can't believe it....I have spent most of the day doing nothing except reading, cuddling woollies, futzing on iPad, dreaming and actually managing to practice my mindfulness meditation! It's amazing how much guilt I have to deal with for having such a day.

It's an ill wind that blows the woollies no good.

This is what I usually do on day one or two of holidays, not day eight.

Woollies have been in ecstasy as there has actually been sun coming in for them to worship. Oddly, woolly ecstasy seems to involve a great deal of loving biting of the mummy. The mummy is less than impressed with this, and stern words and nose taps have been delivered.....however, ecstasy also seems to involve biting of each other, so I suppose it is a culturally appropriate expression of ecstasy and love amongst cats.

There are limits to one's devotion to multi-culturalism, however, one mutters darkly....

@Roberta,
So true! Except for my beloved Phoebe.....she loved showing off her cleverness so much that even NO was fine with her.

@FOUND SOUL,
I think my cats are utter cats....it's just that cats have had a tough press. Or monkeys....Cornish Rex resemble monkeys. My cats think food is their due....they don't think they have to love me up to get food. They DO start annoying the living crap out of me if they think I should have fed them by now, though. Which is odd as I never feed them when they are being bastards.

Which reminds me...I'm hungry.

Hazel Phoebe...cool name!

That's how Viola responds to "Pill time!"

It's weird having a cat who thinks her daily pill is a special treat. She thinks she's sooooooo special because Sebastian doesn't get one.

@dlowan,
Poor woollies imprisoned at vet's because I have to go out bush again for work.

Had to take them in yesterday....Saturday....because, of course, vet not open on Sunday . I get in too late Friday night to pick them up, too.

This time I said I wouldn't go unless work paid for the boarding. May be first time such a request has been made! However, it's $166 this time alone and I'm done paying hundreds and hundreds for the privilege of going somewhere I don't want to go!

Lost my carry cage.....how I have no idea...so woollies were loose in the car for 45 ks. They behaved very well...Sebastian enjoyed sunning himself on front seat, as did Viola, eventually. They showed a somewhat suicidal tendency to leap under the brake pedal, but were amenable to muscular persuasion not to.

The ongoing jostling for dominance took an unexpected turn last week. Miss Bossypants took a turn at getting well above herself and tormenting Sebastian! She was in fine fettle and began pushing him out of the closest to mum snuggle place, jumping on him when he was trying to sleep, pushing him off the perch in the sun and generally being a little curly tiger.

She also took to chasing her tail in the bath, biting mum and jumping on my face when I was peacefully asleep, demanding to go outside, and skittering around the house like a little possessed ball of wool.

I'll be incommunicado after tonight.

@dlowan,
Good for you with the money request. I'm hoping they comply.

Glad to see Viola is standing up for herself.

Mystified how a person can lose a cat carrying case. I'm impressed. It's not easy to lose something that big.

Looking forward to your return.

If you are not "that" far from me, I can always help out.. if it's a couple of days .... I'm not a stalker or anything, Smile shirt I have someone staying here for 6 days for our 50th whilst we are away otherwise the two dogs go into the vets imprisoned... Which they do usually for 2 days here and there.

I so get how that feels ... but it's safe huh.

You also reminded me of trying to move and the cat refusing to go into the cage and trying to hit the brakes Smile

Thank you for that memory, twas a long time ago.
