@Roberta,
The mighty Woolly Walker was here when I got home! Woollies exploring.

Sebastian immediately settled in the carrier tray underneath...after jumping into the empty box...he loves that bit of it!

@dlowan,
Oh my! Just test drove the mighty woolly walker.

Popped them outside on the verandah while I was enjoying a rest after gardening.

Viola has, of course,found out how to escape.she didn't actually get out, but her head was out and she wouldn't have beenfarbehind. Silly people thought Velcro would stop a cat! I am pretty sure I can sew it up to make it viola proof.

Been out with Sebastian for an hour. He adores it! He loves being in there anyway and seems to see it as his little safe place already. He was even better running along beside it than he is with me alone...he has run, with a few breaks, for about forty minutes tonight. He asks to get in when he gets tired and there's a little hatch in front where he can hop out again when he wants to run again.

I have been able to walk fast enough to make myself slightly out of breath for fifty five minutes, with a few jogs, and a few tiny breaks to let Sebastian have a scritch or a wee explore. He got to play on the esplanade fence and run with me along the top as well as sniff the scrub and be amazed again by the sea.

Woot!

Wonder if I can get viola to the point where she enjoys outings?

@dlowan,
Sounds like great fun with Sebastian and the Great Houdini. I think the only way velcro could contain a determined cat would be a full body suit. Now just figure out how Sebastian could propel you in the walker-jogger. Cats are not the only ones to get fatigued. Seriously , the walker sounds terrific: fresh air and exercise and explorations, what could be better. Definite possibilities for a reality show, or infomercial.

@dlowan,
Deb, Would I love to see this. Sigh. Sounds wonderful. The bunny is getting air and exercise. The woollies are getting air and a good ride.

BTW, I sometimes wonder if the people who make things for animals have ever had one or lived with one. Of course velcro isn't gonna keep a good cat closed in.

Enjoy.

@dlowan,
isn't there an attachment to hold Viola's collar to the stroller?

@ehBeth,
They don't wear collars. I could get her one just for that....but the sewing is likely more effective.

Sebastian hangs out in the stroller. Viola went in a while ago when he wasn't there, and, of course, he I'm immediately had to go in and hassle her. I was cross because I wanted her to get to feel happy in there.

You take them out of the house without collars and i.d. tags?

@ehBeth,
Er...yes. They're on no escape leashes and extremely well supervised. Plus all cats here are micro chipped and can be traced at any shelter or vet's so don't you devil face ME.

@Thomas,
Viola does not respond to harshness....plus she has a bad heart and is jumpy since that illness did its best to fry her little brain.

Prussian!

She is using the stroller more and more inside to play in....I hope it becomes a little bubble of psychological safety for her so that I can take her out and still have her feeling safe.

She loves exploring her garden, though.

@dlowan,
ok then - clip the no escape leash to the stroller - most of them have internal tethers for that exact purpose

@dlowan,
Good to hear, have pleasure, Viola!
I don't want to get mushy about it, so I'll just say I'm glad. Oh, and very dear.

I admit I didn't get the last bits.

No escape leash? Internal tethers?

@ossobuco,
Pet strollers...which aremainly designed for dogs...have a little strap inside with a clip that is designed to clip to a dog's collar.

The ridiculous joys of cat ownership! I finally managed to get the woollies to have some raw chicken neck! good for their toothy pegs and also good in that they have to spend a long time eating them, which keeps them amused.

Downside....finding half eaten chicken neck underfoot in my bedroom. At least it wasn't in my bed. You'd not believe the improvised toys that turn up in my bed.

I also caught Viola preparing, perfectly openly,to pee in a discarded litter sack. I think she is attracted by the texture and the noise it makes. I can't imagine in
what evolutionary scenario a preference for noisy places to toilet make sense for a small, vulnerable predator but there you have it. Can't imagine what litter the breeder used!

I gave an almighty shout which gave her a bit of a shock and, and, a few minutes later, she went to the appointed place and was lavishly praised for her righteous behaviour.

@Roberta,
haven't been out again...very busy and the zonked by tooth extraction over weekend when I planned some long walks.

cats competing about who is in the stroller. viola has learned she can defend the entrance against sebastian!

Viola fell in love with male friend over weekend....he and his wife stayed because we had a big cycle race up here. Viola has never been so friendly to anyone besides one of the nurses at vet's. Even licked his face and jumped up on him!

She's a tart.

Sebastian loves everyone as usual.
