@ehBeth,
They will be a landlord to someone else. My buyer is going overseas for a year ot two.

However, sensible people often buy a property as an investment and continue to rent themselves.

meanwhile....it ISN'T a sure thing. It's subject to finance and the bank is only going through today. Only found this out from agent then. I mean, I would have been aware of it when I signed the contract, but I didn't know he didn't have finance already.

Thinking about you, bunny. Hoping for a good outcome.

@Roberta,
I am just having to wait to find out if my bank is going to approve finance on my new house and also whether his bank will approve finance for him on my apartment!

It's an absolute pain in the bum but there's nothing to do but wait. It's bloody nerve-wracking, though. Also, there's a heap of stuff I need to arrange, but I don't want to waste time arranging it until I know it's all going to happen. I am NOT a patient person....but the more astute amongst you may already have recognised that.

Woollies are woollying along. Viola looks good to me, but I'll have her seen by vet tomorrow for a check up and to get some pro-biotics for her after all those super strong drugs.

We are eagerly awaiting delivery of our new da Birds....there was some sort of paypal glitch on the site from which I purchase them and my payment would not go through until this morning. Mousie on a Da Bird pole simply does not cut the mustard!

I am extremely tired and cannot wait until work finishes tonight and I get a weekend. Yay weekend!!!

Hopefully there's only two and a half weeks before I take some time off for moving. I am hoping to get some time off actually to settle into the new place and relax a bit! of course, there will be ots of quotes and stuff needing to be done...but I just want to STOP for a day or so!

How's with all of you lovely people?

@dlowan,
Been lying in bed, drinking in the experience of having an apparently healthy and happy Viola slowly settling to sleep on my chest.....first the kisses and affection, then the gradual settling....then the slow drift towards sleep.

A wonderful experience to have with my little, woolly, Lazarus cat.

annoyed and almost panicky - big stinky puddle of water in the middle bedroom - staining the living room ceiling tonight Confused

thought it was a plumbing thing - stood on the street looking for any neighbour to recommend a plumber - mad internet search

went upstairs to spread towels to try to at least dry things out - hmmmmmmmm the wall is wet near the window a/c

turned off the a/c

went outside - looked at the wall

the outside wall looks ok

good chance there's something buggered with the old window a/c drain and it's been leaking into the room for a week or so Confused

I usually only go into that room once or twice a week, if a dog has used the pee pads that are in there

damn

@ehBeth,
Oof!

That ain't good at all.

Sorry you're having to deal with that.

Hope the problem is as finite and fixable as possible -- though it sounds like it will be unpleasant to deal with no matter what.

@sozobe,
just went up and switched out a set of wet towels for dry towels

crawled in next to/under the a/c

it was still dripping - but now it's turned off, no more source of water, and I'm working on drying things out

on the upside - I am going to throw a bunch of stuff out from that corner of the room that I never go near, I'll finally replace the old carpeting in that room and I'll get a new set of towels - new towels are always good

on the downside - going to have to paint the living room ceiling once everything gets a chance to thoroughly dry out

new towels though!

@ehBeth,
That sounds relatively finite then!

And new towels, awesome. Smile

Glad it's not as bad as first feared.....plumbing is scary stuff.

Sorry it happened at all....but glad you love the new towels thing.

@dlowan,
Painting the living room ceiling is going to be a pain in the patoot but new towels!

I am really glad that I got hamburgboy's linens-loving gene. The 85,000 towels I'm using to dry to carpet/floor up there are helpful. I couldn't do this if I only had 4 or 6 towels.

I'm quite intrigued by this process.

Here you find out in advance what $ they'll give you for a mortgage and you go out and find a place that works with that amount of $. The bank doesn't really know anything about the place you eventually pick other than the amount of the mortgage.
