@Roberta,
I must say I am wondering about tactics today

Any integration experts here?

At present we have two separate worlds, with what I hope is a gradually lessening spit and growl when the worlds collide

But I'm not sure it's lessening

I have to interact with both worlds to try and make everyone feel loved

I know I need more interaction with viola

Not sure whether to let things go as is......with Miranda having me late evening and all night or push things a bit. She also has most of the house all day

But I want her last days happy

@dlowan,
Pushed boundaries today in a totally natural way.

Miranda came out to enjoy the sun and found the kittens after she had perched

When I moved close to give her some love, the kittens, of course, came over to join me and she had to deal with them cuddled next to me while I sat on the floor and petted everybody

Sebastian pushed the envelope by trying to scratch on the perch below hers and was roundly told off...

After a while I had to move.

I noticed Sebastian went over there and ran away when hissed at when he realized I wasn't there to protect him!

Were having another snooze in the sun session with the cats about 12 feet apart again.

Miranda washing in a relaxed way which I think is a good sign

@Thomas,
Vat an optimist

Hope you are right

Just had Miranda sleeping on me on one part of the sofa, with the kittens sleeping on the chaise longue bit

@dlowan,
WHAT can be going on inside Sebastian that isn't going on inside Viola in order for his **** to stink SO badly!!!???

I'm not saying hers is any picnic mind you.

@dlowan,
I hope he's right too. But I'm dubious. Cats is cats.

@dlowan,
The David technique of domesticating kittens:
Step 1. Pick up kitten who is of sufficient age to be interested.

Step 2. Hold a bite sized piece of roast chicken in front of his nose.

Step 3. If he is old enuf, he will sniff n eat it.

Step 4. U have a friend for life.
He understands that u r not the enemy; loses distrust.

Somewhere in the back of my head brews a Hemmingwayesque short story. Its title: "The old cat and the kittens". It's very violent, very laconic, and very depressing. But perhaps it's not what Deb needs right now.

Within the boundaries of their inalienable rights, of course. She can't mess with the right of the kittens to bear and hold claws.

It's official

Sebastian is not actually a cat

He's not scared of the vacuum cleaner

Of course I've had cats I could actually vacuum instead of brush to remove fur.....but it's a rare thing

I'm reading along with great interest & pleasure, Deb.

Your new two are obviously delightful critters.

I'm hoping, that minute by minute, dear Miranda is becoming calmer about their presence.
