On 9/11 after viewing the collapse World Trade Center towers a New York Cardinal said, “I recognized an old friend today in collapse of World Center, religion.” Truer words were never spoken. It was just a repeat of Mosses’ biblical genocide with modern technology, which is rationalized every Sunday in churches across America. I have asked Christians about Mosses orders to kill every man woman and child and the Christians actually defended the genocide by saying if Mosses didn’t have the children killed they would grow up and take revenge on the Israelites starting a never ending chain of wars and despite all the children Mosses had killed that reality came to pass in the modern day Middle East.

By January 2001 Baby Bush and the Republican had made invading Iraq one of their top priorities. The reason was of course was that the oil rich Iraq was black marketing their oil and driving the price of gasoline down below a dollar in America. Iraq had built oil pipelines into neighboring countries and US could no longer enforce the embargo, as Iraq’s oil was no longer being shipped by tanker. Iraq was hurting the pocketbooks of the oil billionaires in Texas by driving the world price of oil down. America war on Iraq was a war born of greed by those in America who had too much already but wanted even more. But the 9/11 terrorists were not driven by greed but by religion. The terrorists would not miss the oil but their greatest fear was that their culture would be devastated and more specifically their religion. The first Gulf War led to a large military presence of US troops in the Middle East. The religion of the conquering heroes often conquers the native religion. Osama bin Laden understood that another large war in the Middle East would further discredit their god. The younger generation would ask why had their God not protected them from the invading heathens. The very presence of a large number of nonbelievers on Arab soil was blasphemy.

We in America may be fighting for the massive greed of Exxon/Mobil on our part but the terrorists are waging a religious war that knows no boundaries. Whether it was America intent or not the Muslim world interprets America’s action as attack on all Muslims no matter where they live. The bombing in Boston was a clear call for all Muslims to join the war. You may be able to fight fire with fire but you will never be able to fight ignorance with even more ignorance. The evil and killing is hard wired into the DNA of all religions and only when we learn to look beyond the mask of peace and brotherly love will we see the black heart of religion.

The religious can’t deny that the killings took place but they will always rationalize them like Mosses by saying if we don’t kill their children they will kill us later. As long as someone exists who does not believe in their god it is blasphemy and gives them license to kill.

“If you break it you own it.” That is what Colin Powel told baby Bush when he was contemplating invading Iraq. The Project for a New American Century was born of a republican think tank, a group of neocons like William Kristol, Robert Kagan, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, and Paul Wolfowitz. Of the 25 radicals who signed the original document in 1997 ten went on to make foreign policy in the baby Bush administration, like Hitler these men were hell bent on going war at the earliest possible moment. When 9/11 happened it gave them a way to rally an unsuspecting public into a war with a country that had nothing to do with the bombings but a country the Project for a New American Century had targeted in the last century.

The Project for a New American Century was very successfully if its intent was indeed to change of the face of the Middle East. It changed the face of the Middle East from organized governments to the angry, bigoted and murderous face of religion. “Give me that old time religion,” is often the cry of those who long for religious order. Now the Middle East has that old time religion, the religion of Mosses, where the killing of women and children was not only considered acceptable but mainstream. For those who long for that old time religion all you need do is go to the Middle East and watch the killings and the heads roll. This is real religion and it is very effective at gathering followers. Death and religion are long time allies.

The war in Iraq was intended to drive up gas prices in America which was selling for 92.9 cents at the time, to over $4 a gallon and it did for a while and the Texas oil billionaires who paid for baby Bush’s election got even richer with a return of over a 100 to 1 but now gas has fallen to below $2 as the Arabs have decided to drive the American oil industry out of business. American Oil fields that were paying uneducated workers over a $100,000 a year plus housing are now closing. What a god-awful mess the Republicans made of not only the United States but the world. The Republicans had a double hitter in only eight short years the Republicans started a world war and a Great Depression.

DNA is the key to life it carries our genetic programming it is self-replicating. The DNA carries the blue prints that are used to determine what eye color, hair color, height, and even genetically transmitted diseases. DNA to be sure has driven evolutionary changes but scientists believe that another self-replicator has been responsible for speeding up the evolutionary process these self-replicators are called memes. Memes are ideas like, a wheel, vendetta, alphabet, calendar, or god. Religions are composed of several different memes that are capable of self-replication in different brains. Memes spread like a virus from one mind to another much like computer viruses infect one computer after another. Computer viruses are specially designed computer programs with the intent to do harm but they are capable of self-replication. While most computer programs serve a useful purpose some cause damage. Cancer can self replicate just as religion does but it purpose is to kill and destroy. A computer anti-virus protects from computer viruses and our reason was designed to protect from religious manipulation.

In 500 BC Xenophanes postulated that god always was and always will be. This was and is by many today believed to be an end all to the question of the origin of god. As if by simply saying the words it would make it true. This is a good example of a self-replicating meme that has been replicating since 500 BC. Like the gene for blue eyes this meme has been passed down intact for 100s generation. Walk into any church in America and ask about the origin of god and you likely will encounter this explanation. The fact that Xenophanes meme withstood the test of time does not make it true it just tells us the meme was a good replicator. In order for life on earth to survive good genes need to survive and bad genes need to be rooted out. A bad gene can result in blindness or being crippled. Bad memes may precipitate a world war. Man was given an immune system to fight off disease and he was given reason to separate the bad memes from good ones but the reason is not always employed especially with religious memes, which are expected to be accepted on faith.

If the filter of reason is removed religion rushes in. Without the ability to reject bad memes the body of mankind is like person with no immune system or a person with AIDs where any opportunest infection takes over. If we look across the world today we see country after country being taken over by the madness of religion where the unreasonable memes of religious born madness are becoming acceptable to the mainstream in those countries. Religion is like rabies once bitten madness follows.

Computers come with an anti-virus to block harmful software from installing itself on the computer. The computer is composed of both hardware and software. The hardware is the mechanical parts as computer chips, resistors and circuit board among other hardware. The human mind also has a biological hardware of neurons and synapses and other biological devices but our brain like computers run on software. The software is of course the memes like the computer much of the software is installed later. Religion is a group of memes that are typically installed early on in life. Just because a meme exists doesn’t mean it is true. Young children have not had time to develop a strong anti-virus to ward off harmful or false memes just as young children often have not had time to have a fully developed immune system. They must depend on the anti-virus of the adults around them. But the adults around them also had the religious memes installed as children and are no help to the children. The religious meme has successfully replicated in the child’s mind. If the religious leader says strap a bomb to your chest and blow the infidels up the child will do god’s will. His operating system tells him he should.

You can install a computer program that does accounting or install a program about a super hero who will rescue the world, a video game. Generally most people recognize that one is just a game. But most people do not realize that the religious memes are little more than a game being played out in real blood and guts.

All of us are to a degree genetically programmed, the hunger response, sexual drive and walking along other traits are in our genetic heritage. But much of our programming is not hard wired it is simply software achieved by memetic programming. Memetic programming speeded up evolution of mankind many times over. Mankind not only had access to his genetic programming but his memetic programming. With the advent of civilization 10,000 years ago memetic programming exploded as did the advances of civilization man.

I remember my first PC before the advent of the Internet. Viruses were not problem software was purchased from a reputable source and no anti-virus was needed. With the Internet came free software and viruses began to damage and destroy computers. With all the upsides of the Internet there is a downside. With all the upside of memetic programming there is a downside and like the Internet memetic programming is vulnerable to viruses and the most damaging and widespread type of those memetic viruses are the religious born viruses.

“Many people see things as they are and ask why? I see things as they could be and ask why not.” Memes are not immortal they can be killed or controlled. At one time the meme that the earth is flat was widespread but eventually the rational mind invalidated that meme and few now believe that the earth is flat despite the apparent physical evidence. Like the flat earth meme religious memes are vulnerable to the rational mind.

When Alan Turing designed the first crude computer he had no idea that it would allow us to better understand ourselves. Turing’s idea was to create a machine that could do mathematical operations. In order to do that he had to understand how his mind did calculations and design a machine to do that. By understanding his own reasoning process he designed a machine to do those steps necessary to do math. By first understanding ourselves we were able to project that understanding into machines which than allowed us to further understand ourselves. We are able to see our mental process reflected back to us in our computers.

What we discovered about the reasoning part of computer is that they are “made of rules rather than wires” known as a virtual machine. Likewise the reasoning part of the human mind is not made of neurons and synapses but of virtual machines, programs made up of rules. Religion is a virtual machine, just as mathematics is a virtual machine. Rules in that virtual machine may dictate that all other’s who do dot believe in that particular god be put to death, that blasphemy be punished with death of the offender.

A virtual machine that destroys other computers is known as a virus. We are quick to realize the damage a virus causes to our computer but turn a blind eye to the chronic and historical damage religions cause. If mankind can turn the corner and see religion for what it is, a virtual machine, a virus that needs to be stopped or at the very least strictly controlled.

Religion always hides in the sacred, that which cannot ever be questioned or criticized we have to start to realize that is just camouflage for a virus trying to survive. Religion is virtual machine made up of contradictory rules that targets the emotional mind. We need to realize that just as a computer can run a fictional video game our minds can run a completely fictional program and pretend it is reality. There is nothing wrong with reading a fictional book or killing creatures in cyberspace but when one decides they have a duty to kills others because they criticize their fictional god something has to be done. Imagine someone killing people because they don’t believe their video game is the one true video game. It would not be tolerated but religious killings have always been justified as right and just. The victims of religious movements are seen a villains, demons, witches or warlocks. Often the victims of religions, crimes were as fictional as the religion of the group killing them. Think of religion as a video game running in the minds of the religious, one that morphs into reality like the movie ”Existenz.” In the movie the video game is hard wired into the player. Farfetched? Wireless Internet can dispatch computer programs and movies by radio signal. Memes are transmitted verbally this is one way human beings acquire programs. Once the program takes root in the computer it can be executed. Once a religion is communicated orally it takes root in the mind it can be executed and execute fellow human beings.

The analogy of the human mind running what is analogous to a computer program may give us insight into the way we think and why. It may allow us understanding we have lacked in the past. If we can better understand how we think we can better understand how to correct the way we think when the process goes wrong.

In America white supremacy was once the rule it was justified by churches and government institutions alike now only the fringe elements stubbornly cling to that belief. Racism is a group of interrelated memes that people chose to believe and like a computer program it has to be installed it was not hard wired in us from birth. Like viruses memes are born by the wind in the words of bigots or hate literature.

On the “Today Show” this morning there was a story of a major Christian Right uprising in Indiana. What Christians do best is strip the rights of others it seems they are always on a crusade to strip the rights of others from abortion to seeking to control what happens in the bedroom between consenting adults. The Indiana law seeks to overturn much of the civil rights legislation by encoding a religious exception into laws against discrimination. In other words if a customer had a different lifestyle or belief system than the local bigoted preacher they could be refused service at restaurants, hotels, amusement parks movie theaters, car dealerships and even doctors offices. The Christian right has already passed pro-discrimination laws in 20 states. There are already threats to move the final four basketball games from Indiana as well as moving businesses out of the land of bigotry.

I was raised in a country where blacks were not allowed to eat in restaurants or go to a public pool and now the brotherly love crowd is trying to bring back that old time bigotry. After the civil rights laws were passed it was accepted that anyone in business would have to serve the public they could not discriminate even if they abhorred their belief system in other words even if you were gay you had to serve Christians even if you abhorred their Sunday hate speech against gays. If serving blacks or gays is against your religious beliefs the solution is simple sell your business to someone who is not a bigot. We should never make laws to accommodate the bigots. The world does not need to be made over to reinforce the bigotry.

Bigotry is malicious program that causes harm not only to the public at large but to the bigots themselves it stunts and impedes their mental growth. Bigotry is rooted in the emotional mind. Bigotry is strong enough that it overrides the rational mind just as angry lynch mob surrounded black children seeking an education in 1960s Mississippi a new lynch mob of Christian Right are attacking the fundamental principals that our laws are based on. Part of being Christian is the formation of the in-group verses the out-group and the in-group seeks to dominate and control the out-groups. It is more evident everyday that the memes that form the bases for the program knows as Christianity are wrong but the good news is the malicious program known as Christianity can be corrected we no longer believe in a flat earth and one day the idea of a revengeful god full of hate and malice who kills little children may be just as outdated. It is my fondest hope that just as we can see pictures of a round earth from space that we will see there is nothing in heaven but stars.

The picture of the law signing ceremony in Indiana was simply unbelievable the crowd gathered around Indiana governor, Mike Pence, was dressed in clothes popular in the Dark Ages. Those in attendance could have been dressed to do a movie about burning witches after the ceremony but the sad fact is that is the way they dress every day. They like to dress in the clothes of dark ages to show off the fact they still believe in ignorance of the Dark Ages. It was simply unbelievable that any politician would pose for photo opportunity with the some of the most extreme religious groups in America. There are now so-called “religious freedom laws” in 20 states all of which can trace their origin to an Oregon Baker that refused to bake a cake for a lesbian couple. The couple successfully sued and was awarded $150,000. These laws are a reaction to the courts legalization of gay marriage.

Those on the religious right are pushing for hate laws that give them the right to discriminate based on their religious views which are subject to change each time their paranoid preacher imagines a new enemy. The religious freedom will be used in ways that were never imagined when they were written. A policeman has already refused to protect a Mosque on bases of his religious freedom. If gays overrun a Christian Church the policemen should have the religious freedom to refuse to do their job because they don’t like risking their lives protecting religious bigots.

Christianity is declining in America with only 17% who regularly attend church of those that do attend church many are moderate so in fact only a fraction those Christians make up extreme reactionary faction, the Christian right. Why are the Republican politicians catering to the extreme position of a minority? Extreme minorities often make the difference in elections. In most elections candidates are pretty evenly matched if one candidate caters to the interests of an extremist group it can make the difference in an election. If a week before the election the poles show the vote is split 50/50 and the Republican candidate realizes that if he promises to supports hate legislation that the Christian right will support him. After declaring his support for hate legislation the Christian right will switch their support and if 5% switch their support the bigoted candidate will win what was a dead heat by 10%. If 5% switch their vote the hate candidate gains 5% and the other candidate losses 5%. This is a political reality in America today and candidates on both sides are supporting hate legislation to get elected. Guns are the same way fewer and fewer Americans own guns but the NRA (Gun Manufacturers Association) succeeds in manufacturing guns that kill thousands every year for no reason.

A massive outcry about recent passage of the Indiana hate law has Indiana legislatures scrambling to take the teeth out of the law. Indiana is losing business daily, concerts and other events are being canceled, and a forty million dollar business expansion has been put on hold. The frightening thing about the recent passage of the Indiana hate law is that it passed their Senate 97-3. This shows how effective the Christian hate lobby is even the democrats are willing to sell their soul for a few more votes. This model was pioneered by the Gun Manufacturers Association (NRA) where anyone that voted against any bill no matter how damaging to the public was targeted in the next election. Money was channeled to their opponents and infomercials ran endlessly on local TV. Any legislature who refuses to pass a bill being pushed by the religious right is targeted and often characterized as being anti-Christ.

Anyone who looks closely at the group gathered around the Indiana governor during the signing of the Indiana hate bill should be frightened. Some of the group were dressed like characters in Robin Hood movie. The group gathered around the Indiana governor looks like the type that has been pushing for anti-blasphemy bill the violation of which carries the death penalty. To get the bill passed the Christian Right might compromise for a punishment of life in prison. These people looked like they came straight from the Spanish Inquisition and the scary part is by their dress they want the public to know that. The next bill governor of Indiana signs will no doubt legalize the burning of witches in Indiana, we all know they have been the real problem all along with the homosexuals.

NBC News anchor Brian Williams was suspended after he admitted a few of the facts in story he related on the evening news were not correct. The difference between Fox News and NBC News is while the anchors on NBC News are suspended for lying the anchors on Fox News are fired for not lying. Fox News proved that to be true claiming the recent “Religious Freedom law” was no different from the federal religious freedom law and the religious freedom laws in the other 20 states when in fact they knew that to be a lie.

Under the Indiana religious freedom law any “for profit business” may assert the right to free exercise of religion. In the 1968 Supreme Court case Maurice Bessinger stated that God was a confirmed racist and wanted only wanted whites to eat in his six Piggie Park barbecue restaurants. He also stated that Slavery was God’s will, desegregation was Satan’s work and the federal government was the anti-Christ. The Supreme Court found Bessinger’s argument “patently frivolous.” This is reflection of the mind of the religious right if you simply replace black with gays you have the same argument today you had in the 60s. Under the Indiana religious freedom law Bessinger’s argument would be upheld. The federal Religious Freedom law does not have this key provision and neither do 19 of the other 20 states religious freedom laws only one state, South Carolina, has this provision. Any bigot can claim his bigotry is religion and in Indiana the bigots are in the majority in the State House.

Maurice Bessinger was the Baptist head of The National Association for the Preservation of White People maybe governor Mike Pence should be the head of National Association for the Preservation of Straight People. Which state were the Piggie Park barbeque restaurants located? South Carolina of course, bigotry and religion go hand in hand together.

Indiana religious freedom laws also asserts that it is a legitimate defense to any lawsuit regardless of whether the state or any other governmental entity is a party to the proceeding. This gives a “for profit business the same rights” as a church or an individual. Last year’s conservative Supreme Court ruling granting Hobby Lobby an exception to The Affordable Health based on “religious freedom. The Federal Religious Freedom Law does not have this clause and neither do 19 of the 20 states, only Texas has this clause.

The difference between 1968 and 2015 is that people like Maurice Bessinger, head of the National Association for Preservation of White People, are no longer running restaurant chains they have been elected to state legislatures and are making laws.

There has been a tidal way of bigotry sweeping across America. This tidal way is organized and being driven by the religious right. Religious bigotry was stopped in Arkansas as the governor refused to sign the hate legislation. Georgia is working on its own version of the hate legislation. On MSN this morning 5 florists shops were interviewed and all said as soon as the law passes they will refuse service to gays. I have been in a few florists’ shops and I hate to tell them but the enemy may be closer than they realize. One florist was asked if she would refuse to sell to people who broke the Ten Commandments by committed adultery or failing to honor their mother and father. She said she would not refuse to serve them that being gay was a different type of sin. She should hang a sign in her red neck florist shop: Murders and Thieves welcome but no Gays please. The Ten Commandments are the big sins being gay didn’t even make the top 10. Did God just forget? Or maybe God made them that way. Or maybe god is just a figment of red neck rights imagination.

One of the florists teenage son was going to be a Southern Baptist preacher told the interviewer that they need not obey and law of the land all they had to obey was the judge of the universe and the great judge of the universe had decreed that of all possible sins that being gay was the absolute worst. How does he know this he imagined it of course. God is invisible and he whispers in your ear when no one is around. He reminds of the Son of Sam serial killer who killed after the neighbor’s dog told him to. When this kid reaches the pulpit and he will his virulent hate will end up in the death of others.

How would the Christian bigots react if the suddenly they woke up in a world where they were the objects of hate strictly for what they believed? They wouldn’t have to worry whether they would sell flowers to a Muslim wedding while a gun was pointed at their head. They could have been in Kenya this morning.

Meanwhile in Kenya the tables have been turned on the Christians while being gay in America maybe biggest sin in the red neck rights mind, in Kenya being Christian is the worst possible sin. In the middle of the night the Muslims showed up asking each college student if they were Christian or Muslim if you answered Christian that was the wrong answer. Christians in a good part of the world are hated as much as gays at a Southern Baptist Convention. The killing and hate radiate from religion like a bad odor off a dead body left in the sun for a week. With all the hate in the world do we really need to give biweekly lessons in how and who to hate. Alas the fault is not in our stars it is in our imagination our imagination can create demons and demigods. How like a video game Africa has become were the objects is to kill as many Christians or members of other religions as possible. How many billions will have to die before we realize the real enemy is religion. If religion were in fact true the world would be a paradise of brotherly love but religion creates a climate of hate and bigotry. Until we realize that religion is the problem not the solution we will see the earth drenched in blood.

God is malleable; he is a projection of the worshiper’s values. When people envision god they envision him as grandfatherly like man. The wise old man is one of Jung’s archetypes, a recurring character throughout history. If there were a god capable of doing all the things that people who believe that god has done it is unlikely he would be an old man but more like a Star Trek creation. The worst part is people are not only responsible for projecting the physical shape of God but also the values of God. In the 60s Maurice Bessinger, Baptist head of the National Association for the Preservation of White People, projected his racism on god. Bessinger believed that God created the different races and if he created them he would not want them mixed. No matter how primitive that sounds now this was encoded in the law in many states and mixed marriages were against the law, so Bessinger’s view was in fact accepted by the majority at time. The bible tries to impose the values of a primitive world of 2,000 years ago on a modern civilization. In so doing it imposes the ignorance of a civilization 2,000 years in the past.

Bessinger also believed that God believed in slavery, this was in fact the very argument that was used by Southern churches to justify slavery. It seems slavery is accepted as normal in the bible with many biblical heroes holding slaves and worse mating with them. The Southern slave masters took this biblical lesson to heart. Neither god nor his followers spoke out against slavery but they did against homosexuals. So in the mind of a bigot slavery is virtue and homosexuality a sin. It would seem that religion does not solve the problem it creates the problem.

Religion is but a projection of our own character flaws or virtues on a screen like a video game we are moving god across the screen of life rationalizing our own point of view.

We all know that the Blues Brothers were on a mission from God but the trouble is that many others are on a mission from God that is not fictional. Two men, Mormons fundamentalists are on a mission from God, one stands and talks quietly to a 15 month old baby telling the child he did not know why God wanted her before he stabs her to death. The baby’s mother was also stabbed to death. It was the child uncles who killed them. They believed that God had commanded them to kill the baby and her mother. A major symptom of schizophrenia is hearing voices researchers have found that if you keep a schizophrenic from moving his lips he no longer hears the voice in effect the schizophrenic was hearing his own voice. Once you marry those who hear what they believe to be God’s voice to those with strong religious values you have a marriage made in Hell and ordained by the devil. Those like the florist son in Georgia will be the first to tell you they answer to a higher power, “the judge of the universe.”

“We believe in honesty, morality, and purity: but when they enact tyrannical laws, forbidding us the free exercise of our religion, we cannot submit. God is greater than the United States, and when government conflicts with heaven, we will be ranged under the banner of heaven and against the government… Polygamy is a divine institution. It has been handed down direct from god. The United States cannot abolish it. No nation on earth can prevent it, nor all the nations combined… I defy the United States: I will obey god.”

John Taylor, January 4, 1880
President, Prophet, Seer, and Revelator
Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints
___________________________________________________
Organized religion was born of mental illness and is especially attractive to those with mental illness today. For instance you will find far more Jesus Christs in mental institutions than Batmans or Supermans. The mentally ill make for such sincere witnesses because they actually believe the tripe.

When the baby’s father discovered the dead bodies of his wife and child he knew instantly who had committed the atrocity it was his older brother. His brother had found that old time religion the killings were ritualistic. There were six Lafferty brothers and two Lafferty girls all were raised to be intensely religious so obeying God’s law was of paramount importance. Ron Lafferty and his brother Dan were convicted of the 1984 murders. Dan was convicted and executed with four bullets to the heart. Ron remains in Prison for life he has never regretted for a moment killing his niece that was a service preformed for his God.

There are extremist in many fields but there are far more religious extremists because their very belief stipulates that God is a higher power and if god and government conflict than god prevails. This is what is happening with the religious freedom laws. The florists shops in Georgia shops make no bones about it they will break the law because god is the judge of the universe.

In today’s world it is accepted by many people, far too many people, that god is a higher power and that they should obey god. The Lafferty brothers were raised as devout Mormons it was instilled in them by their parents and their church, that their purpose on earth was to do god’s will and they did just that when they stabbed their 15 month old nephew and sister-in-law to death in an effort to please God. Who knows the mind of God? Who knows what God’s will is? There are many who spent a lifetime “in the life” and are happy to tell you they know God’s will.

Take Maurice Bessinger, the Baptist head of the National Association for the Preservation of White People, he knew god’s will and he saw it clearly reflected in the world around him. It was clear to Bessinger that God was a racist since God created five different races he would not want them mixed. Bessinger went about his merry way doing god’s will. In Bessinger’s America there were laws against mixed marriages. The concept of personal freedom and the freedom of others is quickly lost in a sea of God’s will.

In Iraq ISIS is beheading people every day. They are just doing God’s will. Bessinger, the Lafferty brothers and ISIS are all just doing God’s will. If god is no more than the figment of their imagination and he certainly is, than god’s will is also a figment of their imagination. Each man looks into the face of God and sees his own reflection looking back at him. When Maurice Bessinger looked into the face of god he saw his reflection a racist God who held the same racist opinions he held. The Georgia florists looked into the face of God and saw a homophobe looking back at them. The Lafferty brothers looked into the face of God and saw blood lust and justification for murder. Members of ISIS look into the face God and their reflection tells them that God wants them to slaughter everyone who is not a Muslim.

If god is imaginary than god’s will is also imaginary. If each person is free to imagine God’s will than we will see the earth descend into chaos. Certainly each man has the freedom to make decisions about what is important to him and work to that end but religion multiplies the damage done by the use of authority. God is imagined as the ultimate authority in the universe and as such all should be subservient to him. But he is not real and the damage done now and in the future is unimaginable.

Mankind has a fatal attraction, not to a strange woman, but to his imagination. Imagination has been one of mankind’s most important evolutionary tools in fact imagination is responsible for virtually all the advancements of civilizations from the earliest tools to the space shuttle but all gifts have a dark side. While one man imagines an airplane and builds it another imagines his wife is cheating with his neighbor and kills them even though the affair was only in his imagination. Or a devout Mormon kills his 15 month old niece because he imagines it was God’s will.

To put it simply religion not only fosters homophobia and racism it also justifies murder as God’s will. Religion opens the door to mankind’s darkest side. What can never be rationalized by our rational mind is easily justified as God’s will. A man takes a hold of a helpless man’s hair and slowly hacks his head off and half of the world cheers it as God’s will. Religion is the key to the doorway that hides the primitive animal darkness our rational minds struggles to keep locked away but if it is God’s will why should it be locked away? God’s will is a chameleon that can justify the most insidious forms of torture and murder.
Without religion you would need a rational reason to murder to murder helpless victims. What is reasonable can be agreed on by reasonable people with religion no standard exits you simply say it is God’s will so be it. Reason is the mortal enemy of religion and fantasy. Religion is like a serial killer that travels through time killing billions. The Black Death killed only a tiny fraction of the people religion killed. Religion is an excuse to abandon our rational mind and take flight into fantasy, into a cartoon like world that no longer obeys rational rules. In cartoons when a giant anvil falls on a character he shakes off and goes on when a religious believer dies he believes that like the cartoon character he will shake off death and live forever.

The religious concept of make believe death serves to justify religious killings as Ron Lafferty stabbed his 15 month old niece to death he told her, “I don’t know why God wants you but he does.” So in Lafferty religiously deluded mind he was not killing the baby he was simply sending her home to God. Without the concept of death as being final the religious will never understand the actual damage they cause. The religious know that their enemy never truly dies like the cartoon character nothing can kill them. Religion is mankind’s mental illness. The world was recently witness to what mental illness can do as a depressed copilot flew a 150 people into a mountain side. Whether people realize or not mankind is on a plane headed toward that mountain side with religious zealots at the controls.

John Lennon once asked us to imagine a world with no religion. That would be far beyond the scope of most people’s imagination a world where reason rules and superstition is relegated to fiction. All religion is but a form of superstition. When we were children a popular superstition was that “if you stepped on a crack in the side walk you would break your mothers back.” One child ignores the warning and his mother is in a car accident and her back is broken. The events are not related but a superstition is affirmed of course religions are indeed much more complex superstitions but the similarities are there the action, stepping on a crack, or committing adultery, stealing, etc. That is followed by the consequence, breaking your mother’s back, or going to hell. The structure of even small superstitions has a lot in common with more complex superstitions. The purpose of the superstition of not stepping on a crack is the same as more complex superstitions it is to gain a measure of control over others.

Superstitions are a tool of power. An older child may enjoy watching the younger children trying to avoid all the cracks in the side walk the same way a preacher may enjoy making his parishioners jump through hoops. The preachers explains that God was a racists or that he hated homosexuals and if they don’t believe that way they are going to hell. On Sunday morning in America you see millions trying to avoid stepping on the religious cracks. To gain power over others you must convince them that their actions have consequences of course in the real world actions do have real consequences the problem is to convince people that their actions have supernatural consequences. Most people no longer worry about stepping on cracks even if they have heard about the child who did and his mother’s back was subsequently broke her back in a car accident. There is no evidence whatsoever of the consequence of going to hell or the carrot of going to heaven. Why would people let other people gain control over their lives? The rational mind could never accept such a proposition but the working model the human brain is that we have three separate and distinct brains that are capable of acting independently. Our rational brain is often used to justify actions and beliefs of our emotional mind. A great witch hunter once said that he didn’t mind killing a 100 innocent people so long as he killed one witch. The emotional mind mainlines fear, its actions are justified by fear, fear of hell, the devil, being disrespected. The emotional mind kept us safe from tigers. But tigers no longer stock us but devil has replaced the tiger in the woods. When you heard stick breaking you went to safety even though the breaking stick was caused by a child. The consequences of being wrong even one time about the tiger in the woods was catastrophic. The emotional mind’s if then statements were once vital for the survival of mankind but now the same type of thinking may be the end of mankind.

Certainly as children superstitions are quite simple while adult superstition are complex but all superstitions are designed to accomplish the same thing to modify the behavior or gain power over those who believe. It is easy to put a smiling face on religion and believe that the control is for the good of the individual or society as a whole a small boy may see a different face of religion as he is being molested by a priest and seven other priests stand around the bed and masturbating (documented case). Certainly the priests had a very good religious education but it didn’t modify their actions they did not fear the very consequences that their religion or the law. In fact when families of the molested children bought numerous incidents of child molestation to the attention of church authorities the church authorities worried only about how a sex scandal would affect the churches reputation. For years the child molesting priests were simply transferred to another church where they would continue molesting children.

The Catholic Churches actions are typical for an organization an individual prime directive is to survive as is the prime directive of an organization. What the Catholic Church sex scandal clearly demonstrates is that even many of those in the priesthood don’t really believe in the consequences of their superstition. I suspect that the more you know about your particular religious based superstitions the less likely you are to believe them. The more you know about religion the more absurd the belief in religion becomes. At some point your rational mind simply throws up. You must make a choice between the rational mind and the mental illness of an emotional mind. The emotional mind was only designed to make simple decisions about life and death situations when you use it to make a decisions about life or death in the distant future it will choose life no matter how absurd the choice. There is no doubt in my mind that many preachers do not believe in their religion but do it for their flock. They believe by gaining control of their flock they can keep them on their version of the straight and narrow. Like the older child telling the younger children not to step on the crack. There are others who use their religion to defraud the elderly out of their social security welcome to Sunday morning TV.

There are entire books written that document the massive amount of child molestation that took place in the Catholic Church. Priests were able to get access to children because they had a position of authority and respect in the community. When one child approached his father to tell the priest was molesting his younger brother his father almost beat him to death telling him, “A priest would never do such a thing.” Yesterday on Discovery ID on a show called “Sinister Ministers” an undertaker and his assistant were gunned down in the middle of the day. The crime went unsolved for a couple of years when it was finally solved it showed the local priest had been molesting a group of boys one of which was the undertaker’s assistant. The undertaker had called the priest to confront him about it. The priest killed them to keep them quiet. The priest had been transferred to another town where he continued molesting boys once he was reported in the new town they contacted the first town which led to them finding the other boys who were molested and the motive for the killings.

The things that took place in Catholic Church were horrible but when studied they found there were absolutely no difference between the percentage of priests who molested children and the percentage of the general population who molested children. At first glance that would seem to let the Catholic Church off the hook but religion is supposed to modify behavior for the good. There is not even a placebo effect on those who spent years in a seminary. Many of those who don’t believe in religion don’t speak out because they think there is a placebo effect on the behavior of others but what we see from organized religion is bombings, organized homophobia and racism.

“Sinister Ministers” also detailed the career of a monsignor in Bridgeport, Ohio who was in line to become a Bishop. When he didn’t get the promotion it was discovered he was hosting sex parties. When his residence was searched many sex toys were found. He was sent for treatment for sex addiction. When he returned most people couldn’t help but notice his weight loss and deterioration. It looked like he was using meth and of course he was. He was sent for drug addiction treatment but soon left treatment and returned to Bridgeport to open a sex toy story and become a major meth dealer. I bet Jesus wasn’t pleased. He was arrested shortly before he planned to flee to Europe. Just because someone tells you he knows the way doesn’t mean he does.

I was once looking for a race in a strange town when I noticed a car following me closely. I had a bumper sticker about running on the back bumper. When I asked the occupants why they were following me they explained they were also looking for the race. I told them not to follow me because I was lost. They stopped and ask for directions and we both made the race in time. I once saw that put in a bumper sticker, “Don’t follow me I am lost.” That is the error with organized religion we are following those who are lost. There are no short cuts in life you can’t let someone do your thinking for you.

Reagan campaigned using the specter of a fictitious black welfare queen who drove a new Cadillac to sir resentment and anger among white voters because anger and resentment motivate people to vote. But Reagan could have used the real life welfare champions as bad examples but didn’t. What if someone walked into the welfare office and when he was asked how many children he had said 200 and could document each and every birth? Not only is this a real case there are many more like it. The pay-off is absolutely staggering and it goes on every day in America. Reagan if he had been looking for abuse in the welfare system would have been well aware of this massive abuse but made up a black welfare queen. Why? Simple the biggest abusers of the welfare system are the Fundamentalists Mormons who practice plural marriage. One Mormon has 200 documented children while he owns a large corporation but most of his children are on welfare. The fundamentalists marry their first two wives legally but all subsequent wives are married in the church with no civil documentation the wives start having children in their early teens shortly after they are married. The wives without civil documents can simply go to the welfare office and collect welfare for all their children.

The Fundamentalists Mormon church teaches that the government is the great Satan but God has directed the Great Satan to give them millions each year. Reagan or any other politician would never bring the massive abuse to light because many see it as religious freedom. Religion has a license to kill, steal, torture and molest children, there are simply no limits to the debauchery. This goes on every day in America with no laws being enforced. Dan Lafferty was of course a Fundamentalists Mormon just doing God’s bidding when he stabbed to death his 15 month old niece and her mother to death. The Fundamentalists Mormon compound was raided in 1949 and the child molesters were sentenced to three years in jail but the wide spread national publicity generated sympathy for the child molesters after all molesting children clearly falls under religious freedom and no one shall violate the religious freedom of another in America. After the molesters were out of jail it was business as usual the governor that was behind the raids was voted out of office and for 60 year child molestation was accepted as a God given religious right in the state Utah.

Uncle Satan is very generous to the Fundamentalist Mormons in one community Fundamentalist community 78% of the residents received food stamps this could explain how they have time to have 200 children. Residents in Colorado City (Fundamentalist Compound) receive $8 in government money for each dollar paid in taxes. The surrounding county residents receives slightly more than a dollar for a dollar paid in taxes. The Great Satan is sure good to the Saints.

Welfare Cadillac? Uncle Satan is far more generous with the Fundamentalists Latter Day Saints (FLDS) he gave them a $220,000 Cessna airplane paid for by the $4 million given to Fundamentalists for their school system by the state. That money is used as a personal bank account for the Fundamentalists Saints. But what can you do with an airplane without an airport? No problem Uncle Satan comes up with another $2.8 million for an airport for this backwoods community of outlaws. As for the welfare Cadillac the Fundamentalists purchased a whole fleet of expensive luxury vehicles with that school money.

Of course there is a dark side when daddy has two hundred children in a very small community then many in the next generation are brother and sister and joyous bundles of protoplasm are born with only one live birth out of ten. Religious freedom is an excuse for almost every sin you can imagine.
