Rae, are you a reader? I hear the book is better than the movie, not to discourage you about the movie. Me, I liked the book, and that is from someone who had previously read too too many books about someone fixing up a house in Tuscany, since that has been a long time interest of mine and Frances Mayes is not the first to do this. The book is very evocative of the place, and .... has great comments on food....
God, I loved that book. I used it as my choice when I was saying goodbye to the bookclub I was in. I had a bbq and lots of fabulous salads, and we sat in my backyard under umbrellas and had a great talk. Love that book. I'll have to read it again.
I've heard that the film is good in its own right, especially if you can accept it as a film completely separate from the book.
Sorry, ehBeth ~ that was a bit of a strong mental hug, but I wanted to make sure that they all got where they needed to go.
well, i felt that one!
(((( Rae ))))
Glad to hear it ehBeth!
ossobuco ~ yes, I am an avid reader. I tried a few times to post on the 'What are you reading' thread.....but felt intimidated by all the books that were being discussed.
My favourite authors are Stephen King, Patricia Cornwell, Anne Rice, Dean Koontz, Jonathan Kellerman, etc. I overdosed on serial killer books for about two years and am just now getting back into reading regularly.
So, I will look for the 'Under the Tuscan Sun' book. Thanks for the recommendation.
Job update for today:
Called the hospital again this morning. My drug screening results have been found, but they had no appointments open with the nurse today, so I have to call again Monday morning.
Good thing my blood pressure is so low because I'm handling all these delays with a smile. Jesuschristbananas.
And use that "jesuschristbananas" in a milk shake.
tossin' a hug back toward Rae
((((((((((((((( RaeGirl )))))))))))))))))))
Jaysusmaryandjoseph! Beth, don't do that when I'm in the bathroom! Lord, I almost fell off the......ummmmm.....nevermind.
(((((BETH)))))
What were you doing standing on the windowsill, Rae?
You're hallucinating again, Beth ~ the windowsill is in the kitchen, not the bathroom. Not that I'm saying I wasn't in the kitchen ~ I'm not admitting anything at this point. Let's just leave it that I was in a compromising position when your hug hit. That's all anyone needs to know.
Luckily, I have no bruises or anything.
Compromising Positions.
Now there was a fun read!
Going to highlight my hair now.
I have no further comments.
Let your minds wander.
Love,
Rae
Trust me ~ if that were the truth, I'd have no problem admitting to it!
More news regarding the job:
Instead of having to go in to see the nurse (to go over my test results) a doctor called me this morning. All of my prescriptions showed up on the drug test and he deemed me good to go. I just have to call the hospital later today to set up my computer orientation.
Slowly but surely, I'm getting there.
Yay Rae! Glad to hear the good news.
That's really great, honey!
I knew you was gonna check thru that test in a sec! Keep us posted, dear!
BTW, urs is off to Copenhagen 'til thursday...
