I've got some cashews here that I need to share with you.

Oooooh, cashews! Rae, better hurry up girl or there won't be many left---but, I'll bring whatever your choice of berverage happens to be.

Okay, first of all ~ shame on you, Beth! I love cashews!

I feel better now.....

On Monday I met with the human resources assistant and welcomed me to the company then briefly went over my benefit package,(ohmygodI'vestruckgold). She gave me a ton of forms to fill out to bring back today.

After seeing her, I went to see the nurse. After finding out that we had TB in our family, she gave me a shot to test for it. Then I went to the lab for the drug screening.

I had to be back this morning at 10:00 a.m. to go over the drug test results, get a Hepatitis B shot, have my pic taken for a security badge (wow!), collect a car sticker for parking and then on to computer orientation.

We hit a snag when it came to the drug test. Turns out that somebody within the hospital is slacking because not only were my results not there, but the four people before me had the same problem. And I can't go any further until those results come back and are discussed with me.

So, as it stands right now, I have to call tomorrow morning to see if they're there and my appointment will be reschuled (hopefully tomorrow).

I was supposed to start work tomorrow if everything went well, now I won't start until Monday.

On another note.....

I told ya'll that my last medical consultation resulted in the doc taking me off of Clonopin (for panic) and giving me Xanax. The stuff ~ at least for me ~ is absolutely useless. I've had several panic attacks since Friday and I took my pills, but would swear on a stack of bibles that they were placebos.

I'll give it until Friday, just in case, and then I'm calling the doctor.

Ummmm.....

That's about it for now!

I'm sorry for not being on here all week, but my son was here and we have company visiting, so it's been a bit hectic.

I'll let everyone know how it goes tomorrow.

I wish it had been my lovely padded butt I landed on. But no. It was my knee. The one that's just recovering from my fall on the ice in December. Nice scraping. I can never figure out how you can scrape your knee through your pants, and not rip the knee out of your pants.

naaaaaaah, you don't owe anybody anything, RaeGirl, but I hoped that if I hollered 'cashews', you'd at least let us know you're there.

I'm excited to hear about the work stuff, and cheesed off about the meds.

I have great faith that you're going to get this all sorted and that February 2004 is going to turn out to be a month to remember, for our MissRaeGirl.

Hang in there with the meds. Takes awhile to find the right ones, and our damn chemistry keeps changing, you know. It WILL get better. Yes, it will.

Too bad about the glitch, Rae, so why not do lots of things you enjoy doing as you wait? It might be quite a while before you have the freedom you have now.

Thanks ya'll. I called the hospital at ten this morning and my drug results still had not been found ~ they said they'd call. It is now almost 7 p.m. and I didn't hear anything all day. I will call again tomorrow and that should produce results ~ at worst, I'll have to take the drug tests again. Which will delay me starting work.....again.

Just a glitch. No problemo. I can deal with it.

I forgot to tell you guys ~ when I saw the nurse on Monday she took my blood pressure (which was high for a while) ~ the reading came back 104 over 60. The lowest it's ever been. The nurse made a comment that I must be the calmest person she's ever come across. When I'm not worried I usually am calm. Duh.

My son is willingly coming back up to me this weekend (I almost fainted when he said he wanted to), so I'm thrilled about that. Mom has a dear friend visiting that we all get along with fabulously ~ it's so weird meeting someone who has so many of the same interests, but it's wonderful, too. We're trying to convince her to move to Florida, and I think she might actually do it.

So, Ms. Olga, having my son here is always something I enjoy! I'm employing Mom and her friend to put highlights in my hair Saturday night, so it's gonna be one big pajama party!

Now, if we could just find a video store that has a copy of 'Under the Tuscan Sun', we'll be set. The movie has been out here since Feb. 3rd and no one ever has it in stock. When I do get my hands on it it'd better be good!

Off to treat myself to a few hands of spider solitaire. I'll let ya'll know what happens tomorrow.
