I hope you don't mind, but I've asked my friend Deborah to throw together a little celebratory meal. C'mon over
seriously, she's an amazing chef click
Thank you, Beth! I'm convincing myself that it was the scheduled group good thought appointments that signed the deal!
Headed to the invite.....thanks for that, too!
Wow! What a great site! It's already saved as one of my favorites!
And I'm drooling, too.....
A chef after my own heart, well, you know that, ehBeth.
Rae, I am so pleased. Cut out worrying and just be your good self, you are already accepted. It'll be hard to get in the door though with all of us hugging you.. squish, ooh, crunch...squiggle, smidge, oof.. oof. Okay, then, we're through the door!
Almost in tears, ossobuco ~ thank you.
The day I start, that will be the thought I carry with me ~ all of us squishing through the door ~ I can't think of a better thought.
Except hearing the arguments of 'get your hand off my butt'!
Wow, eggplant parmesan. I'm coming.......
Me, too!
Uh oh, looks like a stampede to the feast.....squish, ooh, crunch...squiggle, smidge, oof.. oof...get your hand off my butt....LEMME THROUGH THE DOOR, I say! Oh sorry, Rae. Didn't know that was you.....
We really gotta get our act together before next Thursday, folks.
Anyone here play trumpet?
I think we should have someone go in first, do a bit of a, errrrr what do they call those fanfare things? then a few attendants throwing rose petals, and then Rae being carried in by roger, and c.i. and bigdice!
Whatta ya think?
Rae, if you ever do make it up here, we will have Deborah cook us a really good meal. I ordered 2 birthday cakes from her last year, including the lemon crostata - phenomenal.
OssoB - my dream is to go on one of Deborah and Tim's tours of Italy. The food, wine and cycling tour of Sicily is particularly tempting to me.
Pardon me.....
'carried in'?
I think not!
Cycling tour of Sicily?? DO it! Hmm, I bet the tour includes the restaurant at Regaleali...
Regaleali Estate
Yikes, that book brings $155.00 used. I have it, in good condition. Bought it at my local used book store for $14.95. Hmmmmmmm.
Rae!!!!! Yes!!!! I knew it!!!!
Now give me some of that lemon crostata!
We will have to do some serious celebrating in April!
Nisse and Mysan say hi :-)
Serious celebrating? Felt like every day was a celebration while you guys were here, so I don't know how we can top that!
Please give the babies a pet from me!
glad thing are working out for you at last Rae. Just take thing as they come and you will be fine, remember its a start. Working will help. good luck not that you will need it because your a winner Rae remember that.
Rae, we will think of something special :-) I can hardly wait to see you and Misti and Paddy and Lacey!
Nells, how are you these days?
That's good to hear, nells! Take care!
Ursula and nells1961 ~ thank you so much!
nells1961 ~ can't help myself.....I worry about you all the time. Have you given any more thought to getting back on your medications?
I had my second medical consultation today.....the doctor upped my Paxil milligrams to 25 from 10. He continued the Trazadone (for sleep), but agreed with me that after I've been working for a few weeks, I probably won't need it anymore.
He also took me off of Klonopin (finally found the correct spelling - sorry) and prescribed Xanax. Reason being is that the Xanax will work quicker to alleviate panic symptoms, and will also leave my system quicker. Unlike the Klonopin, the Xanax was prescribed for 'as needed'.
Since my first horrible bridge panic attack back in December, all bridges have become a little bit scarier for me. The job I accepted will require me to cross not only the bridge with all the construction, but also the tallest bridge in my county......and that was my first thought when I got the phone call with the job offer. OHMYGOD!
I'm rambling ~ I'm sorry.
Guess my point is that some changes have been made with my 'recovery' and it'll be interesting (at least for me) if these changes work. I'm a bit worried about that. Normal thoughts, I'm sure.
Please let me know how you're doing.....I worry. Can't help it ~ I'm a mom. I worry about everyone.
In the meantime, please know that you're always in my thoughts and prayers ~ if I can do it, you can, too!
You are valuable to this world, to your family and friends, to this site and to me.
Be well and happy ~ SMILE!
Love,
Rae
On bridges, only a few of which bother me, there is a book by the New York Times food writer, Ruth Reichl. Unfortunately I don't remember the title at the moment, but it isn't her latest one. Anyway, she goes on about bridge panic, and eventually getting over it.
Me, I hate cliffs, bridges I trust. You'll be fine with the bridge, you'll make it ordinary, I know you will.
Yes Rae I have decided to go back on meds as I have been feeling down lately. You are very brave Rae, you are dealing with your problems head on, which is the best way and the job will do wonders for your selfesstem if thats the right word. Thanks for thinking of me I will be fine.
It's nice to see you here again, nells.
I'm glad to read that you're taking care of yourself. This is a great place to come and blow off steam, or get a (( virtual hug )) when you need one.
hmmmmm, that reminds me - whatever happened to the hug thread?
