I don't know about you but I think Michelle Obama is a very attractive woman. BUT who in the world picks out her clothes? She is the First Lady and some of the outfits she has worn have rendered me speechless. What do you think?

Here is a link to plenty of her "outfits". I think out of all of those I saw maybe two dresses that actually were elegant and looked great on her.

Here are a couple of her "outfits":

@Arella Mae,
I've seen worse
First photo, ask self if it would seem that bad if she were a teacher, a secretary, a lawyer in a courtroom and a few places besides. She can't be in fancy gowns all the time and if she always was wearing pricy getups the publiic would moan belch groan and beef about that. Well she I guess will lose
either way.

Second photo, he isn't any better and as the Pres. he should be. The wrinlked shirt and pants he seems like he's been sleeping in a a luggage compartment a bus of a bus. She hasn't the best dress, but it's in line with what the people in regular towns might wear.

Third photo she looks very nce, quite nice. Sadly that photo makes hm look about 12 years old and his hands are clasped in the most un-Presidential way.

The above clearly unbiased view has been made by me after eating fried cheese whle my hair is pulled back in a ponytail and tied with a twister seal. like her, she has class and style and will always.

@Rockhead,
I think I would like it if it wasn't off the one shoulder. It looks awkward to me.

@Sturgis,
When I flipped through the photos on that link she was wearing this one dress that was gold and strapless. It was absolutely stunning!

You think some of the FLOTUS's outfits are unattractive. Noted.

(you hadda start a discussion board thread about it?)

@Arella Mae,
I tend to like her. I tend to not like her clothing choices. She wouldn't like mine either.

@snood,
I think she is a very attractive woman but yeah, some of her outfits sure aren't attractive.

@Arella Mae,
I kinda like 'em. If I was tall, I'd definitely try to work some things she does. They're certainly not looks that a lot of women can carry off.

@ehBeth,
It's true she can carry some things off better than others. I guess it's all a matter of personal preference.

@Arella Mae,
One of the things I've noticed is that she seems to like a lot of colour combos that I like - like the 2nd dress - I love love purples and acid greens together - but I know the combo makes some people kinda twitchy.

@ehBeth,
I think she is absolutely stunning in this dress. She does have big shoulders but this strapless gown doesn't make them look overly big. The dresses where she has the one shoulder thing going on I think emphasizes her shoulders. I absolutely love this on her. She has a beautiful skin tone and she can carry off wearing colors I sure couldn't.

@Arella Mae,
I'm not a fan of her clothes choices, though I get her whole thing of promoting various items as long as she has to choose clothes anyway. Some of all this is better than others, from my picky point of view.
Remember, of course, that my own stuff is for naught.
My most hated bit is the high belts.

Often, whenever people scrutinize some prominent woman's looks and dress at great length, I hear an outcry from women who raise the very good point that men of renown seldom receive the same kind of scrutiny. You know, the double standard that sort of regards men as part of a meritocracy that allows them to be fat, dumpy, bald and rumpled as long as they produce on some level, but won't allow women the same freedom.

This thread about the first lady's style is offered up by a woman, peopled mostly by women's posts (with the exception of me, Sturgis and Rockhead), and makes no mention of that double standard.

Just sayin'...

@Arella Mae,
Agree, she looks just stunning in the creame coloured dress.

I think she looks best when dressed a bit more sporty. She is too proud about her shoulders and arms. Some of her summer outfits are nice, but she has some very nice outfits when her shoulders are covered.

It looks like she has a tendency to be knock-kneed, so the black skirt with the black/white bluse is not becoming. the skirt should have been longer. The outfit is not her style at all - would fit her mother.

I did not feel like looking at 95 pictures, but she does overdress. Picture number 5 arriving in New Delhi it what looks like a cocktail dress with silver shoes it not correct when leaving a flight. Maybe it is me - but silver shoes are for the evening.

Picture 27 Nobel Prize ceremony she is overdressed for a noon celebration, but at the banquet she looks very nice.
Picture 38 she is again overdressed in what looks like a cocktail dress for a morning meeting. Compared with the Queen, Michelle Obama´s dress is out of place.
