I know people in this world I do not agree with, and I cannot say I approve of their motivation... Usually such people do not know how I feel about them or about their thoughts because I don't see the point of sharing with them, or of upsetting them... The chances of some good outcome are slight... All this talk is harmless, but I trust that understanding is possible... It may seem like we are so many cats with our tails tied together, slung over a clothes line, and left to tear each others guts out... That really is not the object, even if some of us think it is...

I've seen no sense in anything pom has offered. The blurted assertion has no value to me no matter how often or how forcefully stated.

It's alright, Fido, spendius can spew as much as he wants. Results are what matters and my developmental students pass at a high rate. I know when my 101 students suffer from the inability to read at the college level -- and I have several like that now -- and should flunk because unless they can successfully pass 101, history, political science, biology and chemistry classes are closed to them.

I know it often requires a leap of faith; but even when people seem to spew complete garbage, hatred, or nonsense, it is still important to try to see them as human beings, correct them if possible, and reach some sort of understanding with them... Only when we give up on communication and begin using people as targets can we say that we have failed... While there is still time to reach accord we should give that time our best effort... And you don't have to remind me of the times I lose my temper and abuse people... Some times even to waste time with some people in that fashion is a kindness, for what is the next step...

I'm a supporter of a reduction in the population and the decrease in the avidity of the desire for invidious conspicuous consumption and I'm supposed to be on the right. I often promote Laurence Sterne's Tristram Shandy so that those unfortunates, whose supposed teachers have stolen the masterpiece from them, and introduced a good deal of trash in its place, can have it restored to their stock of English Literature.

I was wondering if the libs have yet bothered to apologize for their misguided and misplaced accusations against conservatives and the Tea Party for the shooting. I think there is ample evidence by now that Loughner was a radical leftist if he was anything besides a mixed up kid with mental problems. The press should also apologize for their accusations as well, but we conservatives have learned they have never demonstrated honesty or a conscience about their fraudulant reporting.

You do not need to apologize for the shooter. He is the one guilty of the crime. However, if you are part of the group that blamed his mindset on being a right winger or onto the Tea Party, you should apologize to all conservatives for your misguided notions and misconceptions.
