House of Reps. member Giffords shot in Arizona today

Giffords is strongly for gun rights, owns guns herself and I read somewhere that people in the crowd were armed.

Yeah, for all the good it did any of them.
The element of surprise outsmarts the armed and loaded...

I dunno. I did not check them all, but if thay WERE, then u might think that
the murderer 'd have a few more holes in him than when he entered the premises,
unless thay were cowards or thay were profoundly apathetic. Yes ?

I doubt that her voting record will bear u out qua her zeal
for defensive gun freedom. If she had been vocally anti-gun,
she 'd have thereby subverted her prospects for election n she knew that.
Some of the most fierce supporters of victim disarmament who hold public office
own guns themselves.


I deem it unlikely that anyone there except the bad guy was armed.
I cannot speak definitively; I can only speak in terms of probabilities.

Sometimes; the results of fighting are seldom predictable.
The most u can do is to be as prepared as possible.

Obviously, if there r 10 well armed good guys on the other side
of a room full of unarmed people with the bad news happening
on the opposite side of the room from them,
it can take a while for them to approach n get into position
( but not as long as it takes the police to arrive ),
but if everyone there is well armed, thay probably can get into action defensively
within about a second (i.e., about the time it takes to complete a sneeze).
