When will PM's be enabled again?

I haven't been to this website in months and yet they are still disabled. Any chance of getting this turned back on? I know why they were disabled but surely the threat of mutiny has passed.

It's not a simple fix, but an entire reworking of the pm thing to ward off spamming.
Robert will get to it when he gets to it.

Since you are using it now, you won't mind clicking on these links to find the answers you are looking for. How did I find them? I went to Robert's profile and looked to see what his last posts about PMs had to say. Give that a try next time if you don't want to have any time wasted.

I'm confused - pm's work for me. I got one the other day and I was notified that I got it, was able to read it and was able to respond.

How could that happen if they're not working?

They were shut off when a new batch of people spammed a lot. So new people have to wait. Some of them send up tom toms. Some of them are innocent newbies. Robert plans to work all that out.

Meantime, newbies seem to now take pms as some kind of amendment right.

Those members "spammed" only because they were merged from another forum. I'm sure those people are gone now or at least don't care anymore. Why not re-enable PM's for everyone?
