@tsarstepan,
Ceili is far too polite to mock you - much more likely she suspects you of doing a re-run of the famous BBC April 1st special on the spaghetti harvest

Ye vile serpent! Repent!

Bacon (or hog jowls), cheese, butter (allowances for margarine in a pinch), biscuits (allowances for toast in a pinch) and pork brains (allowances for squirrel brains in a pinch) are the only acceptable complemenets to grits! Grrrr.....

Edit: and sausage (preferably Jimmy Dean's hot)

Edit edit: and runny eggs, of course. That's a given, innit?

I don't wear no hatses . . . they make your brain overheat and lead to delusions of potato glory . . . pasta is a more better food . . .

@wayne,
http://www.readbookonline.net/readOnLine/1524/. Your comment about grits and berries reminded me of this short story by Sam Clemens. He was hired to esit an agricultural newspaper without ant experience or interest in agriculture itself. He justifies his position at the end as purely commercially driven but that was only after his separation fom the paper.

Not gut wrenching laughs but it is similar to sppofs that we habitues of the feed mill will often foist upon unsuspecting tourists who flock to this area each year.

(We once had some guy interested in having he and his kids help out hand picking soybeans so they could experience farm work)

@farmerman,
Good story there, old Sam was good at that sort of stuff.
Speaking of soy beans, i'd rather hand pick them than go down there to start the irrig. early in the am. Round here the squitors are big as birds.

@FBM,
You may be eating sunday dinner grits, I am refering to sunday dessert grits.
You have discovered the worlds foremost authority on the runny egg sandwich with maple sausage n pepperjack cheese.

If someone like Hayden Christiansen or Robert Pattinson or Rob Schneider were cast in the lead role as Superman in the franchise reboot, not would but could Christopher Reeves roll in his grave?

@wayne,
Hmm. Maybe. I've never heard of anything sweet with grits, but I'm an open-minded sort. I guess. This time. I take back the "vile serpent" thing.

Now I'm hungry for a sammich. No maple sausage or pepperjack tho. Sad

Has anyone else ever been so hungry that a mayonnaise sandwich seemed NOM?
