I can't tell if he's having an orgasm without ejaculation, or if maybe I just really suck at oral.

@aidan,
From my perspective, the big deal was only disproving a contradiction-in-terms;
arguing the pure logic of the situation; like arguing mathematics.

From my perspective, I believed that I saw a flaw in your reasoning,
that something that u were concerned about occurring coud not possibly happen.

If there existed anything in my history of which I were ashamed in the extreme, beyond ineffability,
and if that event (shall we say, for example, a lie or a theft?)
were revealed to the world on a purely anonymous basis, such that I were not associated with it,
I woud have no objection; no negative emotion, e.g. if someone said of that event: "I know of someone who lied."

With the person who offered that anonymous revelation to the world, I 'd continue to enjoy happy and convivial relations;
no problem at all, even if the anonymous revelation were made by surprize & with no authorization from me.

That 's OK in my book.

@aidan,
I sympathize with Chai about not liking seeing one of my pm's being posted, and that has happened to me. Talk about enraged.

News, if you didn't know this - people send pms around. Just figure you are quoted.

I think I remember the thing with chai and with you.

To go back awhile, I didn't like understanding that you were a guy, Aidan.

I get Chai's qualms about your general wonderfulness, and your sometimes taking over threads re your wisdom, especially recently, wtf, the wisdom nurse. But, hard for me to bark, I probably do that too.

We all are learning.

I don 't know the incident in question,
but what u describe sounds to me like simply being within free speech. ( not regarding the circulated PMs )

@OmSigDAVID,
No one gets to post pms on the general board. It did happen to me, and I take it did to Chai.

I am less cognizant if people can link or clip pms to each other and if that is somehow ok. That happened to me too.

I figure there is some block in place on the first instance by now.

@ossobuco,
Oh no - I didn't know pm's were sent around. So let me get this straight - it's okay to betray someone's trust in what is thought to be 'private' behind their back - but it's not okay to do it upfront and say to someone I don't know you and I don't feel comfortable communicating with you privately if you're going to be derisive and belittling.?

I've never sent anyone's pm to anyone else. And I never would.
But hell yeah - I would say - don't say this **** to me in private if you don't have the balls to say it on the threads- right out on the thread.

I don't think it has anything to do with wisdom Osso - I think it seems more likely that I just play by different rules.

Actually - I think I'm sort of naive in some ways - if this is the truth about how other people really feel it's okay to behave while they're berating someone else for being upfront.

Let's just say - I don't get it.
But I certainly don't hate or belittle anyone.
Does that make me stupid - or wise?

@aidan,
Far as I can tell, you did post a chai's pm on a regular post.

Sorry that you don't get it. That's a no.

I'll back up and say I may be wrong, but your take seems inconsequent.

I didn't know pms were sent around either. Until sometime later.

Yes, I did. And I would do it again, if anyone else ever sent me an abusive private message while they were kissing my ass on the thread.

Whatever - I got something out of this whole thing - I might change my user name to Wisdom Nurse - or even better - Stateside Becky - Wisdom Nurse
that's so great!!! I love it! Thank you for your part in it - I'll attribute if I decide to go with it.

That means, don't assume you are just talking to one person.

@ossobuco,
I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

When I have engaged in a private conversation with anyone on this forum, I have kept what they have said to me private.

I never engaged in any private conversation with Chai because SHE sent ME a very unwelcome and confusing BOMB if you will - and since I did not know her, I wanted any response of mine to be seen by EVERYONE! I did not want there to be any misunderstanding of my response or role in the exchange.

I don't send people bombs - but if people send me bombs - I'm gonna make it known- and that is my right.

How can people who engage in exchanging other peoples' private messages without their knowledge feel that they have any right at all to chastise anyone else for any behavior?

I find it appalling that people send what other people believe is their private correspondence to one person to someone else.

Again - is that wise, naive or stupid? You must decide for yourself . I just call it respectful.

You quoted a pm.

You still do not get it.

It was a private message.

@ossobuco,
You are the one going ahead and putting on the boards a private message you got.

This is not regarded well.

Thanks to everyone who helped. However, I'd just like to say this in response to the whole private message conversation: I understand that some of you are upset, and, although I happen to be more inclined to take the sides of Chai and Ossobuco, this was something that happened in the past. Yes, I believe that it is disrespectful to quote a private message somewhere in the open. That is not anonymous. That addresses the person by username, which is in some way a form of identification. Not okay. But, putting that point aside, what good is it doing for everyone to be arguing about it? I'm not chastising. I'm simply saying that I think that it's a shame that everyone is getting themselves so worked up about something so futile. Obviously - and I mean no offense - Aidan is a very stubborn person. Everyone here - from what I can tell - is very stubborn. But, honestly, I think that perhaps it is time to just move on and let go of all of the grudges, because nothing positive is coming from it.

--Again, I'm only trying to help, not to upset or offend anyone. People will ultimately always have their own opinions and their own views. We can try to influence their opinions, sure, but there comes a point in time where we have to realize that we cannot force our opinions upon anyone else. It's basically the same rule that applies to religion. You can talk up your beliefs as much as possible, but it's ultimately up to the listener to form his or her own opinions. All you can do is hope that they actually understand and gain something from it. You can't force them to.

Let the record indicate that I have never sent around
any PM, nor will I do so, nor did I know that it was being done.

@questionableasker,
question, I'm glad you're here. We can continuing arguing - this one has a history, for arguably good reasons (or not) but your view is at at least listenable.

Well, that sounded tame. Snort. I am actually glad. Someone with brains..
