Odd is it not Hawkeye that most of the major founding fathers of this nation at one time or another hide their identify in their public writings for the same reason as you had stated.

What others theories do you buy into? The moon landings was not real, 911 was a US government plot, and Obama was not born in the US for example.

Not so odd are the many A2K members who have openly suggested here that they hope that in real life that my freakish ideas get my ass kicked, or that I end up being punished by the state, or that it must be that I am writing from prison.

This idea that I should advertise my identity goes under the heading " I did not just fall off the turnip truck". It also goes with my statement to Firefly that I am offended by how stupid A2K members are taken for by some around here. We have brains some of us, and I for instance have 53 years of fairly extreme (intensive) life experience, plus I have decades of Zen practice and a life long inquisitiveness and an imperative to seek truth. And after all these years of the effort failing we still see people trying to blow the bullshit past me. It leaves me scratching my head. Do they not know any other pitches?

No, it is a lame self defense mechanism. If one wants to label my ideas trash and take them to the dump without looking at them everyone must cooperate by also claiming that they are trash. Once even a few people take an idea seriously that plan will not work, because self deceit fails. The only way to preserve the delusion it to convince themselves that those who reject the garbage label are not real.

I started hearing 20 years ago claims that we as a collective are dealing with mass mental illness, and I did not believe it at the time, but I take the claim seriously now.

Why do I care if my writing style represents what ever your opinion of what zen writing style should look like? It is not like I am interested in spreading Zen. In my many years here I have rarely talked on the subject. I only mention my Zen training because knowing this should help people understand what I say, particularly my politics because there are very few like me, it is not like I have some existing political label available to explain what I am, Zen Socialist is the best I can do.

Bill, your writing "style" is so obviously variable as to render most of your posts laughable. It's the modus operandi behind the obvious typos that makes us think you're a plant/hawk extension.

Why would I spend a lot of time arguing with my own avatar? Bill and I largely agree on a hostility to victim culture and sexual politics, but we have been completely at odds on other subjects. Bill, do you remember any such subject? There have been at least two threads in the last year were we completely did not agree. I am about the ideas not the personalities so I dont recall what they were.

EDIT: Here is one, though it is not on of the two I was thinking of because I dont argue the Israel/Palestinian problem much
