And for the record, the Turks sided with Germany during WWII too, despite some history books that claim they remained neutral.

Being an atheist makes me more 'western'. Atheism began in the west and largely remains there even today. I am a capitalist not an anarchist. I am not anti-American I am anti-nationalism and I've made that abundantly clear many times. None of the things you've listed would make anyone any less western. the west has been a safe haven for many new ideas this includes atheism and anarchism and thus both of those things are western ideals.

We are talking about the West as a culture, a set of somewhat common ideals, not just a location.

True. I love the story of T.E. Lawrence. Yeah, he was a child-molestor and BDSM-geared homosexual, but what the heck. One's sexuality is one's own business. He still pulled off a great feat of generalship by way of the Arab Revolt, 1916-1918. :thumbup:
