It was in a restaurant when I was there. Grecian UFO's we called them.
Okay, decadance and depravity are not always city attributes (!)(?)
Just think of the poor sheep!
God, how that reminds me of so many bad jokes . . . and i do mean
baa-aaa-aaa-aad jokes . . .
I mean, I don't care who you go out with but do you have to post their picture here?
ehBeth...yes...it's been going on for some time...we didn't know how else to tell you...we ALL think he's a cad...well, except Gertie, see above, who still believes his sweet nothings...we're sorry you had to find out this way...but, clearly, you're better off rid of the philanderer...my number is 604 688-2055
Been away... boy has this thread moved on!
No one should be forced to be sheepish about their sexual orientation. And no sheep should be eaten except with mutual consent, and mint sauce. If you are carniverous, that's ok, just remember to steer clear of the high crime areas of the city.
Think that covers it.
I cannot believe that Denmark is ranked 14th on the UN list LW.
European surveys always have it in the top 3 and Copenhagen is often voted at #1.I must look up those lists.
And yes,it is "Wonderful" here.I just wished the song had never been written.
Cologne has just gone up in my ranking:
The boss of a Cologne web design and advertising company is trying to
restore "Prussian discipline" to the office, reports the Times.
Judith Mair claims in her book, Fun is Out, that the boundary between
work and leisure has become too blurred. Employees waste time on
private emailing, laughing and talking about non-business subjects,
she believes. They should arrive and go home on time, not take work
home, and feel under no pressure to be cheerful. "Grumpiness is
tolerated if it does not interfere with work," the Times says.
"There will be no Christmas party this year. Or any year," the paper
adds.
Oh well Lightwizard, couldn´t find anything.I´ll just have to sulk around knowing that I live in country #14.BEHIND the U.S. and the U.K.
Stupid lists.......sulk.
The magazine Wallpaper* made a lovely list a year or two ago.
Am trying to locate it.Top 10 cities I think it was called.
Oh no, that BBC link is terrible. Doesn't Margo live in Sydney? Margo??? Are you OK?
Hebba -- What song? I've been looking at Copenhagen. It does look nice, if chily. Is the Tivoli Garden opened for Christmas lightings?
Having visited Sydney a few years ago, climbed the bridge, walked Chinatown, and had some great seafood with wine, and the friendly people, it saddened me to hear about the destruction of the fire. The latest news I heard was that hundreds have deserted their homes to escape the fire. I hope the firefighters are successful in containing the fire soon. c.i.
Well, heb, the saag paneer I've ever had was in Copenhaven (NOT London) (never been to India), and that goes a long way in my book.
Terrible news about Sydney -- reminds me too much of the fires in Orange County in the late 80's. We could see the sky illuminated at night from Newport and three of my friends lost their homes. I worked on three houses later on in lighting projects that were rebuilds. Those fires were all over the Southland including Malibu.

storing info for future reference
naughty, naughty baby . . . no back rub for you . . .
I still think Denmark, specificallyCopenhagen, would get my attention if I was forced to leave Canada.
ok, it's not the song that sells me on it, but this is for Piffka :
Danny Kaye- Wonderful, Wonderful Copenhagen
Wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen
Friendly old girl of a town
'Neath her tavern light
On this merry night
Let us clink and drink one down
To wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen
Salty old queen of the sea
Once I sailed away
But I'm home today
Singing Copenhagen, wonderful, wonderful
Copenhagen for me.
I sailed up the Skagerrak
And sailed down the Kattegat
Through the harbor and up to the quay
And there she stands waiting for me
With a welcome so warm and so gay
Wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen
Wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen
Friendly old girl of a town
'Neath her tavern light
On this merry night
Let us clink and drink one down
To wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen
Salty old queen of the sea
Once I sailed away
But I'm home today
Singing Copenhagen, wonderful, wonderful
Copenhagen for me.
and that's not all Danny Kaye knew about salty old queens in Copenhagen, but he never sang about them.
