@realjohnboy,
I would 'splain it to you, rjb, but the last time I helped you you ended up taking my trophy...

(he didn't screw up bad enough while in the proper position to lose the save)

Wow. Fausto Carmona (Cleveland SP) owned by Jespah is in the bottom of the 8th trailing 0-1. At last check he was only up to 95 pitches.
His counterpart for Detroit is Armando Gallarra, free agent here, who has a no hitter going.

@realjohnboy,
he has a perfect game going, not just a no-no...

(he was not that good when I had him)

doh.

27th batter singled.

Aw. I wasn't aware of the op for a perfect game for Armado. 1 hit in the end. The runner advanced to 2nd and then 3rd due to our old friend "fielder's indifference." I love that scoring terminology.
Jespah's pitcher got a CG but took the loss.

@Rockhead,
Looks like an ump cheated him out of perfection. Shame.

@Gargamel,

"I just cost that kid a perfect game," Jim Joyce admitted afterward. "I thought he beat the throw.
I was convinced he beat the throw, until I saw the replay."

(at least he was man enough to admit he fucked up...)

@Region Philbis,
I think Selig reverses it later today.

Joyce (the ump) went and tearfully apologized to Gallarraga.

Tony LaRussa says he supports reversing it.

Ironoically, Jim Leyland (Tigers manager) was supportive of Joyce after all the anger died down.

this will be an interesting moment in sport for a bit longer, i think.

The Comissiner's office is like the Vatican. Several centuries behind the times. The call will be reversed the day the Pope says blowjobs are okay.

@Rockhead,

@jespah,
Jim Leyland is a class act (ciggies and all)

"Tigers manager Jim Leyland said MLB gave Joyce the option to not work Thursday’s game, but Joyce chose to stick with his job behind the plate. Leyland added that Galarraga would present the lineup card and shake hands with Joyce at home plate before the afternoon game."

(the Tigers have not appealed)

@Ticomaya,
I, like RH, think it will get reversed.
