@Ticomaya,
Baseball always ends too soon.

But the Mexican Pacific League is coming... Go Tomateros!

@fbaezer,
You cheer for the Tomatoes?

I must look into this league.

@fbaezer,
How can anyone not love a league which includes the Mazatlan Deer?

So, do they have fantasy?

What? The Oystermen are defunct! I guess I'll go with the Mayos.

Great league, indeed. Played in Northwest Mexico. Better than the Mexican League (AAA). No fantasy that I know of, though.

The Ostioneros (Oystermen), what a great name! I also miss them.

I lived in Culiacán for 2+ years, a baseball city 24/7, 365 days a year. So rooting for the Tomateros came natural.

All the Mexican Northwest is baseball (not futbol) land.
Out of 18 Major League Mexican players in 2010, 10 come from the Northwest (5 from the North, 1 from the Gulf, 1 from Mexico City's metro area and 1 from the all-soccer West).

A rare picture of the Mexican Pacific League.

@Gargamel,
Quote:
If I were a Cubs fan, Ryno's the last guy I'd want at the helm.

Why?

Because if I were a Cubs fan, I'd love Sandberg. And I'd be wary of the fact that I end up hating, eventually, every ************ who manages the Cubs. Booing him. Calling for his retirment in May. Etc.
good call, Garg...

Quote:
The Chicago Cubs removed the interim tag from Mike Quade and named him
the manager with a two-year deal and a club option for 2013, the team announced Tuesday.

Quade took over for Lou Piniella, when he retired on Aug. 22, and Quade guided the Cubs to
a 24-13 record down the stretch.

I'm sorry to tell ya all that your teams did pretty bad this season, specially the Mayos, who finished last.
My Tomateros made the semi-finals, but lost.
Yaquis are champions... and defeated today the Eastern Bulls, from the Dominican Republic, 4-3, 15 innings, at the opening game of the Caribbean Series.

When the Caribbean Series is over, time will be ripe to start thinking about A2K Fantasy Baseball for the 2011 season.

Everlasting beisbol!
