@ehBeth,
Yes and no, EhBeth. This week-end are the 4 Wild Card games. The 4 winners will face the 4 teams that have bye weeks. But who will play whom is really convoluted. It is too complicated for me to lay out the scenarios. I should have remembered this from last year. But I didn't.
This week we will pick the Wild Card games. Next week I will ask for the picks through the rest of the season.
I set this up thinking I knew the NFL's scheduling. I was wrong.
This Week:
NYJets @ Cincinnati
Baltimore @ New England
Philadelphia @ Dallas
Green Bay @ Arizona

@mysteryman,
I could be mistaken, (it's happened before) but I think rjb is planning some kinda redneck point system this year. gonna complimacate things a bit.

he seems to only want the picks for this week.
(this could be attributed to lack of short term memory as well)

i'm thinkin' he wants to let everyone re-load after the rounds and go again.
get more bang for his buck kinda thing.

he can correct me if I'm wrong...

(this time)

@realjohnboy,
ok
picking 1 week is trickier (for me) than going the whole whack (since I've usually done this round back to front)
working on it

@realjohnboy,
OK so this week, my picks in bold:

NYJets @ Cincinnati
Baltimore @ New England
Philadelphia @ Dallas
Green Bay @ Arizona

Hesitated over Philly/ Dallas, I watched them play on Sunday and Dallas handled them easily but does that mean that Philly will be mad and out for revenge or that Dallas can just do the same thing all over again?

Pates (edelman does his best welker impression)

The 8 ESPN experts have weighed in. They have:
Green Bay over Arizona by a unanimous 8-0;
Dallas beating Philadelphia by a margin of 7-1;
New England topping Baltimore 6-2;
and they split evenly on New York vs Cincinnati.

I apologize again for thinking we could pick all the way through this week. The NFL's schedule made that option impractical. But you will get a star (a point) for every game you pick correctly during the Wild Card week.

Folks who have indicated an interest in playing or I think really should play include Ddjd62, Rockhead, Miz Cowdoc, EhBeth, Liontamerx, Fox and ElStud.
And of course anyone else is welcome.

Story time. That is a price yall have to pay for playing here. Feel free to scroll through this.
Andy/Clubber is a player here and an employee of mine. Yall met him on the regular season A2K NFL Pick-Um Game. He is the singer in Bella Morte. There was some video of his band on that thread. Pretty scary.
The Jefferson Theatre in downtown Cville dates back 100 years. It was originally a live performance space but was converted to a movie theater and then, when movie theaters moved to the suburbs and became multi-plexes or whatever, it was abandoned.
It has been renovated over the last couple of years and re-opened recently as a performance space.
Andy and Bella Morte were the headliners last Saturday night in a month long series of events.
Andy came away really excited. This place, where as a kid he had seen movies, was beautiful. An incredible sound system. Ceilings so high that there are 3 balconies. It was great.
But...
Only later did he find out how badly some of the 700 folks in the audience had been treated.
Folks showed up with their hair in multi-colored spikes, and (as is their custom in Goth-dom) with metal chains for belts and spiked leather collars and wrist bands.
The security folks , for whatever reason, denied entry to anyone so garbed.
So be it. I think it was a matter of culture shock. I may be wrong. Goths tend to faint at any threat of violence.

This is where the story gets good. So here are these fans, who had walked or taken the bus or had parked blocks away, outside the theater, unable to get in.
Across the pedestrian mall is a small Asian restaurant. One of the owners comes out, figures out what the problem is, and invites the kids in to deposit their forbidden gear into bags stapled shut and left in his place until after the show. He would stay open after his normal closing time so the stuff could be redeemed.
All ended well.
Security people went nuts, denying entry to anyone in that kind of regalia.

@CalamityJane,
But, Calamity Jane, in order for your prediction to have any validity here, you need to make some choices in this week's games:
NY Jets @ Cincy
Balt @ NE
Phil @ Dallas
G Bay @ Ariz

Then we will see how the Chargers fare.
Thanks for visiting and, I hope, playing.

I was surprised to discover, when I got into analyzing our picks in the Wild Card games, that there is no consensus. Of the 22 folks who have picked thus far, the max is 4 who have the same choices. We are really all over the place. There is at least 1 permutation that no one has chosen.

18 hours left to make up your minds. Get with it!

@Rockhead,
George went for: Cincy, NE, Dallas and Arizona.

NY, Balt, Philly and Ariz is, I think, unclaimed. There could be others.

Your choices, RH?

Tick, tick, tick. Time to choose, folks.
