I suppose I am. Son of migrant workers, skilled laborer, poor, listen to Hank Williams, eat black eyed peas and cabbage for new years, wear my clean blue jeans to go shopping Saturdays, drive a pick up, have a big dog, cut my own hair, drink beer.

The thing about American Country Music is that the lyric usually actually mean something, i mean well, have you heard the song "Thats Not My Name?"
Quote:
They call me girl
They call me Stacey
They call me her
They call me Jane

That's not my name
That's not my name
That's not my name
That's not my name

Surprised

HA

I gathered from the list of songs you posted on your thread about your sister that you liked the earthiness and direct personal nature of the lyrics that tend to be trademarks of country music.

You have my condolence about the passing of your sister.
You were and continue to be an awesome sister to her.
You are an inspiration.

@OmSigDAVID,
The dog has various barks. Being attuned to them can tell me if it is a stranger, mailman, meter reader, or if it is idle barking at cats or squirrels.

Pit Bulls, I can tell you from experience, make useless watchdogs. May as well just have a doorstop, or a speed bump. Black Labs may be better: I dunno, I've never had one.

And I agree, Dys, that Geese are much better watchdogs than most dogs!

I never heard my dog bark or even whine, until the little one we had taught it to her. The older she becomes, the more she gives 'em hell. A year ago, she was hiding whenever the meter reader came. Now she makes a ferocious racket and goes into the yard. He says he ain't scared, but he carries an aluminum looking swatting pole. This is one kind of watching I try to discourage in her.
