@spendius,
The runners on this thread insist that you use us to carry your casket down the church stairs and out onto the sidewalk.

in addition to our regularly scheduled 5k -- The Fast Feet & Phreedom 5K , next saturday @ 10:00am, Artesani Park...

we are also doing The Last Mile @ 2:00pm, Kenmore Square to Copley Square.

Quote:
So, as you have all heard by now, some coward likes to blow up trash cans. In doing so, this person or persons
have hindered many from accomplishing something they have been training very hard to do over the past year.
This is simple, we are going to Kenmore Square to finish the race for those who ran, and for those who can
never run again. Share this with your friends, your families, your enemies, and anyone in between. Come join us
and run, jog, walk, limp, wheel, or crawl that last mile.

We are working hard to obtain the proper permits and permissions from the City of Boston to hold this event.
We will updated the event as we obtain more information.

Event will take place RAIN OR SHINE!

@Region Philbis,
We will be tired (and my parents will be there, too), but we will do it.

@jespah,
We'll be in New York that day, but with you in spirit.
I'm going to find something blue-and-yellow to wear.

@jespah,
They postponed "The last mile", but I'll try to come up for your regular run. It'll depend on my workload, so it's a plan and not a commitment at this point, but I'll do my best.

@jespah,
Hey, both of you ran faster than about a million Bostonians, who weren't running at all. Tired is good. And you have the rest of today to sleep it out.

Yet another 4-miler in Central Park here today, in 43 minutes flat. My marathon prediction is now 5:15 (based on today's race) or 5:20 (based on the fact that I'm covering 4.9 miles when running for an hour at my marathon heart rate). Either would be a PR for me.

I am back on the roadways. Starting the first of April, I began with 1/2 to 1 mile trots. Then I increased the mileage by 10% until now, today, I did a four miler.
(I am being very careful with this meniscus injury, probably overly so, but I don't care, I just want to be able to run ten to thirteen miles and have fun.)

Any tips out there on how to strengthen a right meniscus???

BTW also running about as fast as most people walk fast.

Joe(I don't care about that either)Nation

@Joe Nation,
Good to hear you're back out there.

Easy does it, you've got to build back up and that takes time.
Oddly enough, it doesn't get easier with age.
Ain't that a bitch?

I ran a mile with Two-Mile Mike today.
That's less distance than I usually do, but Mike sets a faster pace.

I am running the Corporate Challenge with a team from The Widget Factory
in June. My goal: avoid embarrassment.

Well--I would be embarrassed showing my legs in public and I've got good legs.

@spendius,
My legs (while running) have been in track pants all winter.
I have no fear of showing them in the sun -- the reflection will be blinding.
