@littlek,
un-biased news outlets are tough to come by within the family, leastways that's always been my experience.

Well, this is embarrassing considering how much time you all put into this thread. Sis just called. Mom made an assumption which she spread (she does this sometimes) via email. Sis is willing to eat out if there are cheap options. She is happy with the restaurant and date option I suggested.

Mom isn't all that anxious. She probably knew perfectly what she thought she was saying to me. Talking to her about this would make her defensive and she'd tell me I was being mean to her. Sometimes I swear the woman is headed into early onset dementia.

@littlek,
At least you are starting to realize that you need to be skeptical about any future statements from Mom in this regard.

Wonderful, k!

For you, I mean! Hooray! Very Happy

For future reference, if you ever want to discuss the ramifications of a sister who thinks she's owed .. & a mother who sort of empathizes with her ...

Hey, I'm your girl!!!

I have extensive experience in this specialized field & am more than happy to share my findings with you! Wink

@littlek,
Yes, she is, k. Six years older.
And her life is far, far more tragic than your sister's will ever be! Our family's sole purpose in life has been to save her from disaster, which constantly threatens! You aint seen nothin'! Wink Razz

(But let's not get sidetracked from your thread, k. I have found a way to cope with the situation I can live with! Smile )

@littlek,
Ha! There I was, having just read your initial post, drafting the outline of a Pulizer-prize-winning psychoanalytical essay, when a voice whispered into my ear: "Read the rest of the thread first, read the rest of the thread first, read the ..."

Thank Murphy I listened to it.
