I think you'd have to weather a few years of the cruel and sadistic comments that are endlessly posted by the vermin who support the Kerchers before you could truly understand.

I think you're probably one of the good guys though, based on your posts.

I'd best pass on that opening to define the Kerchers. As I said, incompatible with my respect for A2K.

Yes. That is because you are evil.

@oralloy,
I believe Amanda Knox is innocent. However, I can see why others think she is guilty. The media on the case is very mixed. I think we should be respectful of those who disagree with us.

If they were "good people who were honestly misled", they'd be willing to discuss the evidence when I present them with a factual argument. Instead, they only ever respond with cruelty and dishonesty.

These people are monsters. How could I possibly respect someone so evil and cruel?

For what it's worth, if you're interested in following it, the Kercher family press conference starts in five minutes.

You know, all these silly attacks on me, and my response to them, is beginning to take up more space than the true point of the thread.

I pass on responding to the above.

And chalk up my post about harming Italian children to: I'm very angry (with much justification), and angry people sometimes lash out.

Now, let's get back to the pending acquittal of Amanda and Raffaele in just a few hours.

OK...

any innocent loss of life is abhorrent - no matter where they're from - and devastating for any family

I don't presume to change your mind on what your beliefs are... because I don't think anyone could change your opinions

I do see a family, the Kercher family, who have lost their daughter from a violent and brutal murder - and if you can imagine how angry you feel about what's happening to Amanda Knox, then can you not imagine how truly horrifying this must be for Meredith Kercher's family and how raw this must still be for them?

I would be pretty sure that they want the murderer brought to justice - I cannot imagine that they personally would wish an innocent person going to jail - I do believe they are trying to find the truth - I believe any family who has lost a child / family member like this wants to know the truth.

...............................................................................

I'm just trying to point out that I know some of the people on these threads personally - as in, I know them, and they are good people, they're not evil

Watching the press conference now.

edit: and to be honest, I think the media play a very cruel game in all of this.

Misplaced belief. The Kerchers fought hard (successfully) to get the corrupt judge in the first trial to block any scrutiny of the clearly fake evidence.

They fought just as hard (thankfully unsuccessfully) to get the appeal judge to do the same.

I cannot see how a hard-fought struggle to block any scrutiny of fake evidence could be thought of as an attempt to learn the truth.

And as it happened, what they did led to two innocent people spending two years longer in prison, and it led to the person who raped and killed their daughter getting his maximum sentence reduced from 30 to 16 years.

Today should be about Amanda and Raffaele going free.

We can talk about my much-justified anger tomorrow.

@oralloy,
I truly couldn't say whether it is misplaced belief - it is their belief

and what I believe is neither here nor there

but I do believe that if the "authorities" (even if they are not an authority in other's eyes) repeatedly told the Kercher family that this person, and this person and this person killed your daughter... they did this to her, and this to her and this to her - and that is what they've been told for 4 years, and add that to all those emotions going on during their grief, during there wish for seek justice, during everything they endured... then I can't see any family turning around and not wishing to do the best they can to accept that the jury's verdict was correct.

I don't understand why you need to blame the Kercher's - they are doing the same in trying to find the person who murdered their daughter - as are the Knox family are doing in trying to get their daughter out of prison as they believe in her innocence.

The Kercher's, in my opinion, aren't evil.

The system does make mistakes and horrendous injustices happen around the world - and, no, that doesn't make me happy at all

but I really can't imagine how the Kercher's are feeling when for years they believed that someone murdered their daughter and may now be freed.

The same goes for Amanda's family - I can't imagine how they must feel as they've had their daughter taken from them for 4 years too...

both families are fighting for their daughter's justice and the truth

yes, be angry at the justice system, at the way the media plays it all out

but anger towards the family, or to individual posters for continuing to question what happened... I think it is anger directed towards the wrong person/people.

No-one, not no-one involved in this case knows what happened 100% - no-one except the murderer of Meredith Kercher.

I hope justice prevails.

I can truly say it. When people who fight to block any and all scrutiny of fake evidence, believe that they are trying to find the truth, their belief is fake.

Izzie wrote:

Because it is wrong to prevent people from getting a fair trial, even more so when they are innocent.

Izzie wrote:

No, their efforts to block scrutiny of fake evidence are not in any way an attempt to find anything.

Izzie wrote:

If the Kerchers had been fighting for the truth, they would have supported scrutiny of the fake evidence instead of fighting to block it.

Izzie wrote:

"Continuing to question what happened" is not an accurate description of the years of behavior on this thread.

A better description would be "using obfuscation and dishonesty to derail any presentation of facts about the case".

Izzie wrote:

That is incorrect. The evidence has been clear from the beginning as to what happened.

Guede broke in through the window (alone) while carrying a big knife.

When Meredith came home he attacked her and cut her throat.

When she was struggling to breathe, he raped her.

Then to prevent her from summoning aid and thus surviving to testify against him, he took her phones and locked her in her room, and went dancing at a nightclub while she slowly drowned in her own blood.

Sometime in there he also stole the rent money from her purse.

Izzie wrote:

Justice will require paying Amanda and Raffaele many millions of dollars, and will require the prosecution of a large number of Italian judges.

And not just the two corrupt judges who blocked scrutiny of the evidence for the Kerchers. Also all the judges who ordered Amanda and Raffaele to spend these past four years in prison when the law only authorizes house arrest/electronic monitoring in such a case until Cassation confirms the verdict.

Guede's huge sentence reductions are irreversible. He'll be out of prison soon now no matter what. Whether that is just or unjust depends on whether you think it is OK for the Kerchers to fight to prevent innocent people from getting a fair trial.

I hardly ever drink. What gets the results in question is a sense of ethics and justice. Some of us actually support doing the right thing.
