The Italian judges released their list of lies to justify the conviction.

Haven't had time to read these links myself yet, but here are the wire reports:

AP: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/eu_italy_knox

AFP: http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/italyusbritaincrime

I'll go looking for an English translation of the report when I get a chance.

And the last time I used Yahoo to link wire stories, the link came up with a 404 error half the time, so if one of those links does that, clicking the link a second time might make it work (refreshing the error page probably won't work though, as it is different from the article URL).

The AFP link contains an Italian lie besides the lies of the judges.

Amanda never said she felt her rights were respected or that the trial was carried out correctly.

(CBS/ AP) A day after a lengthy report released by an Italian court justified the murder conviction of Amanda Knox, the American woman's mother said she is hopeful her daughter's lawyers can overturn the decision.

"I'm really encouraged," Edda Mellas told CBS' "The Early Show" Friday. "Our lawyers are seeing huge amounts of things that they can fight."

Mellas, however, admitted she did not know all the details of the report, only that the lawyers have told her many contradictions were apparent in the ruling. "They bring in things that were not even discussed in court," she said.

ROME - A stunning new revelation has emerged in the Amanda Knox case, casting new doubt on whether Knox and her ex-boyfriend were present when Knox's British roommate Meredith Kercher was killed in Perugia, Italy.

According to a report in the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, Rudy Guede, a third man convicted in Kercher's murder, told his cellmate in Italian prison that Knox and her ex-boyfriend were not there when Kercher was killed.

The cellmate came forward with the information and has made a formal videotaped statement that has been submitted to the prosecutor's office in Perugia.

In the dramatic new statement, Guede's cellmate claims that Guede told him there was another person with him on the night of the murder but it was not Amanda or her ex-boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito.

Valter Biscotti, Guede's attorney, however, said: "My client has never mentioned this aspect of the story."

The new version of events, as revealed by Guede's cellmate, contradicts Guede's testimony at his own trial, where he testified that Knox and Sollecito participated in the murder of the 21-year-old British student.

Knox is currently serving a 26-year prison sentence for the murder, and Sollecito is serving a 25-year sentence. Guede originally was sentenced to 30 years, but that was reduced to a 16-year sentence on appeal.

This is a breaking news story. More details and information will be posted as they become available.

Even if he had, some of the jurors might have missed it due to their 'naps' during testimony.

I suppose I've calmed down enough to address it without saying vile things about the Kercher family.

The evidence is pretty powerful that Guede broke in through the window, so if he claims he and the other guy were invited in, he's lying.

That said, if Guede says this other guy broke in through the window with him, his story *might* have some merit.

Making sure all the killers are caught isn't really that important though. The important thing is to get Amanda and her boyfriend freed and then to take revenge on Italy.

As I suspected, the story claims that Guede and his friend were invited in.

This video clip shows the interview, with a narrator translating into English:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OR8iafbEYZo

The evidence is quite clear that Guede broke in through the window, so I doubt there is any truth to the story. He is just trying to fool people into believing he wasn't the sole killer.

Warning: the video clip describes Meredith participating in a degrading sex act. (After all the horrifying things that have been said about Amanda, there is surely no problem with trashing Meredith's reputation, but I thought I'd warn people.)

Someone in Italy got something right. The courts ordered that Amanda be paid €44,600 for having her diary published, with the tabloids also paying court costs.

http://perugia-shock.blogspot.com/2010/03/amanda-knox-compensated.html

That silly former bar owner got only €8,000 for losing his bar, and most of that was eaten in court costs.

The only real complaint I have is that Italy needs to pay their compensation in blood, not in euros.

Italians admit targeting Amanda and Raffaele for no reason:

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504083_162-20000577-504083.html

Best excerpt:

"The third incident, according to Giobbi, was the most disturbing. It occurred when the police picked up Rafaele Sollecito for questioning, three days after Kercher's body was discovered. Police located Sollecito at a cafe. It was three in the afternoon and Sollecito was eating a pizza. But Sollecito wasn't alone. Amanda Knox was also sharing the pizza. This so-called "meeting" helped convince Giobbi the couple had acted together in the murder."

Guede's sentence cut explained:

Quote:
"An appeals court said it shaved 14 years off the sentence of a man involved in the murder of British student Meredith Kercher because he was the only one of the three defendants to apologise to her family."

"The ANSA and Apcom news agencies said the appeals court also said that while Guede sexually assaulted the woman, he was not the one who stabbed her."

More:

The judges for the Perugia court of appeals also explained the reasons they granted Guede attenuating circumstances that led to a substantial reduction of his sentence. These include the fact that he had no previous police record, the fact that he did not wield the knife that killed Kercher, that he voluntarily returned to Italy after running to Germany in the days after the murder, his young age, and the "acute stress" that led him to flee the scene without rescuing the victim.

The judges also mention Guede's difficult childhood without a mother and with a father who was often absent.

. . . . .

In explaining the attenuating circumstances, the judges also mention the fact that Guede is the "only" one of the defendants to have said he was sorry to the Kercher family, "even if it (the apology) was only for not having been able to save Meredith," and not for his role in her killing.

Guede's criminal record of breaking in through windows while carrying a big knife (and using the exact MO that the killer used to break in) doesn't count??

Except he did wield the knife that killed Kercher. He broke in and killed her alone.

Better pictures of the room where Guede broke in through the window.

STILL NO BROKEN GLASS ON THE CLOTHES

I'd ask your explanation for why the crime scene pictures show no broken glass on the clothes like the Italian liars claimed, but since it is already clear that you will go to any lengths to justify this atrocity, I suspect your excuses would turn my stomach.

It has also emerged that the prosecution has failed to deliver to the defence all the paperwork and documentation related to the forensic testing.

Chris Mellas, Knox's step-father who is currently in Perugia, said yesterday: "Our lawyers asked for everything, every file and record relating to the forensic testing. We were given some of the stuff, like what was on Meredith's shoes or a juice glass but not the full reports on the knife used or the bra-clasp."

Deputy prosecutor Manuela Comodi brushed off the request for all forensic documentation and added: "They have everything they need. That is enough."

LAWYERS appealing against the murder conviction of Amanda Knox have been told they can’t use shocking new evidence.

It reveals the third person convicted of killing British student Meredith Kercher had committed six serious crimes over 33 days before the killing.

But robberies carried out by small-time drug dealer Rudy Guede were ignored by Italian authorities, raising suspicions that he was a police informer.

Even Giuliano Mignini, who prosecuted Knox, 22, and her ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, 25, says Guede should have been in jail when Meredith, 21, from Coulsdon, Surrey, was killed in Perugia, Italy, in November 2007.

But he will still ask the Appeal Court to raise jail terms Knox and Sollecito received of 26 years, four months, and 25 years to life.

Chris Mellas, Knox’s step father, said Italian law regarded Guede’s crimes as “part of a separate case”. He added: “It is bizarre because it is an important aspect of the overall story.”
