You do not, and so you get what you are looking for. You make inflammatory posts and get inflamed responses. What did you expect to happen? Maybe on other subjects you are a voice of reason, but in the realm of Politics, you display the worst side of yourself. You ought to change that if you want to have better interactions with people here.

Take some responsibility for your behavior. There may be some good reason for insulting other people, but your having guessed that someone is not looking for rational conversation is not one of them.

Your conduct is a reflection upon you, not Finn. Hopefully most a2k'ers are sophisticated enough that they will not be buying your BS.

I own my behavior and apologize for nothing. I ask nobody for forgiveness nor blame anyone for their responses to my posts.

I make my own judgements as to what is a good reason to say something, and I don't self-censor. It would be a waste of my time to come on A2K and then self-censor what I actually think.

I'm sure your desire to respond to my post is because we have gone around the bend a few times, but I don't feel bad when I'm criticized by someone who argues in favor of Rape and male domination over women with frequency.

We can only get to know the parts of people which they choose to put forth on A2K; we don't know all the little things that people do in life which make them good or bad. I personally wouldn't be proud to have forwarded the opinions which you have chosen to forward. But, you know this already, so I won't clog the thread with a lecture.

Conducting yourself with civility would not be a waste of your time, but your posting history indicates that you believe otherwise. Have you learned nothing from our Iraq experience? Namely that he who gets down into the mud is as guilty of bad behavior as is the one who was there first. We as a nation claim to be about "doing what needs to be done" just as you do, which is how we got into the deception used to sell the war and torture. Terrorists are and Saddam was scum, but the civilized don't become scum to confront them. The uncivilized step into the mud , all the while claiming "had too".

You still don't get it. I say nothing that I 'have to.' I say things because I want to say them. I post on A2K entirely for my own gratification, not to build a 'community' or find a bunch of people to nod and agree with me; and that is not compatible with self-censorship.

that is very interesting, considering that I have almost 5k posts here, and have never been caught in a lie. As for the rest...who knows, perhaps you are not as smart as I am so you can't tell reality from BS as well as I can. I don't know you, but at least I am not dumb enough to pretend that I do.

It is all about logic and evidence, not personalities. Far too many around here have lost their way.

YOU are delusional if you think that was "catching a lie" He interprets Roberts words differently than I do, but my interpretation is completely supportable by the definition of the words Robert used. We have not even so much as looked at any of the text and argued about it, and yet you have me as guilty of lieing. This lack of common courtesy and fairness that you are currently showing towards me is exactly the kind of thing that Finn and others complain is ruining the a2k experience.

As I recall I said that at that time you were acting like an asshole, as you were. Don't know when I said that I was better than you, though it is possible that I am better than you. You have the quote to back up your claim....right?

Being caught in a lie demands amongst other things that the truth be proven to be in opposition to what was said. If the truth is unknown, or better yet unknowable (as in who is the better man) then no lie has been found. So yes, your logic is faulty.

But, I'm used to human pretenses, especially yours, and I think they don't carry much weight.

I caught you, more than once, in contradictory statements, as if you were corralled.
