Give it a rest, will you?

This conversation has become kind of wanky.

@OmSigDAVID,

For example: if u had THREATENED to leave and our host was responding to that,
its different than if he confronts u and commands u to leave.

this is true. However I was asked by Robert to leave several times before the one time that I have mentioned the possibility of my leaving. Also, this being the internet there would neither be a confrontation not a command, my ip address would be blocked and I would no longer be able to post. I might get an email explaination, I might not.

I will reiterate that no matter Roberts faults, he has not done this to me, nor to others that I am aware of... to his great credit. It appears that Robert believes in free speech and the individuals right to attempt to alter the beliefs of the collective.

U don 't express yourself like any SOCIALIST that I 've ever heard.

I imagine that this is because I find compelling individuals to subordinate their individuality to the common cause repellent. I believe that the worth of the common cause over individual effort is self evident, that individuals can be convinced through reason and life experience that enlisting in the common cause over individual desire is in their best interest. I believe that a strong collective begins with strong individuals, unlike most socialists who believe (so far as I can tell) that a strong collective demands that individuals be weak and/or not fully formed.

The heart & soul, the innermost essence of socialism,
is subordination of individual rights to the perceived well being of the collective.

Socialism is predicated upon docility of the individual.
The antithesis of collectivism is Individualism.
That 's Y Fascism came so naturally, facilly, and effortlessly to Musolini, a life-long socialist.

@OmSigDAVID,
I wasn't fishing for compliments, (kind of emotional wanking) David.

Ditto that.

For the record, here are the clear miscreants I have identified:

Setanta
JTT
Cyclo
Cicerone Imposter
DrewDad
Dyslexia

In my book, only one of the above merits the ignore button, and I can report the button works very well with that troll. The rest on the list contribute to A2K, in varying degrees, but they each offer substance, and their posts are worth reading, IMO.

Eliminate half of the incisive posters and you eliminate any reason for opening the threads in question.

This thread prompted me to look over the posters I have on ignore. I was amazed that of the eight posters, five have completely stopped posting. Trolling is not nearly as fun when no one sees your posts. My general philosophy is that if you are posting anything of value or you're not incredibly offensive, I won't use the ignore button, but if you meet the criteria, I have more concern for my posting experience than for allowing abuse under the guise of free speech.

How incredibly false of you.

Nobody ever had to do a single thing to get you to 'lower yourself.' You actively start arguments and lead off with divisive and hateful language. This pretense that you are acting in response to anyone else is a joke.

My attitude on this is 100% the same as Kickycan's. I see no reason not to call someone who regularly engages in such poor behavior, exactly what I believe they are. I hand out my scorn where I believe it is deserved, and I have never noticed much reluctance on your part to do the same.
