And yes, that was a rather long way of saying bookmark...this is a tricky one, most of the anecdotes that come to mind, don't really fit exactly....but I do have a few that do.

I respectfully disagree. Each situation is different, and in the case of this piece of ****, I think it's equally important to demonstrate a rational disgust with his misogynistic ideas insofar as reducing the spread.

I've seen a number of others follow his mindset on preventing false accusations of rape being more important than the rape itself and it disgusts me to no end. I think it far more important for the potential sickos to be informed they're sick AND for their victims to know that most people think so, than it is to pretend they're demented thoughts are worthy of thoughtful consideration. In this, I think even "over the top" (as you see it) reactions serve a valid purpose.

For anyone interested in or bothered by the discussion on the nature of discussions--it is germane here, thanks to Rapist Boy. RG claims that calling him that feeds into his martyr schtick. If it give him the warm fuzzies, then certainly there is nothing to complain about in my posts. As for others who read here, if anyone who is reading here is intelligent enough to understand the sentences being written, they're intelligent enough to make their own judgments about just how valid Rapist Boy's claims of martyrdom really are--which is to say, they're pure BS.

And it's germane because Rapist Boy is attempting to derail the thread with his idiotic and self-serving crap about the age of consent, about marital rape, about "freedom of expression" (that one cracks me up every time he trots it out), and any other number of perversions which he attempts to justify. Basically, his spiel is an old whore, and no amount of make-up and fancy clothing he puts on her will hide the fact.

Finally, someone here once opined that, in fact, Rapist Boy only comes here to lay his bullshit out there, see how it is picked apart and hone his argument for use with the less well-endowed--rhetorically speaking--when he starts his rant in real life. If that is so, we're all doing the world a disservice by ever responding to him at all--without regard to the MO of the member responding.

Well, I won't add to this further. At least not for a while. I was hoping to see more on the original discussion. Apparently no one trying to follow this gets to talk after the boys have taken the thread to the skies, ala dramatica. Certainly no woman gets to make a darting remark.

There was absolutely no point in what you wrote, so it wasn't an argumentum ad hominem because there was nothing to refute. When you claimed i derailed the thread, that was bullshit--it was Craven who did that. I'm not surprised that you're too befuddled with cheap wine to understand these things, though.

When someone accuses me of something, and i consider it unwarranted, i'll respond. In the case of veal bones there, i'm just sick of her alcoholic maundering. Usually, i just ignore her, but i'll be damned if i'll ignore her attempts to smear me. Perhaps she'll eventually come to ignore my posts which are not addressed to her, and we can avoid this sort of mess.
