@alex240101,
Better give the score for that last game Alex or Johnboy will whack you with his mitten.
@Rockhead,
Well usually it's somebody who makes a name for himself/herself on shows like
Survivor or
Fear Factor or
American Idol or
Dancing with the Stars, etc.
In Tila Tequila's situation:

Here is what I am settling on as being the tiebreakers in the likely event two or more players end up with the best W-L record in a week:
1) Player closest to the winning NFL team's score;
2) Player closest to the losing NFL team's score;
3) Player closest to the home team's score;
4) Player closest to the visiting team's score;
5) Player closest to the two NFL teams' total points scored;
6) Player ranked lower in the standings.
23 folks have made picks thus far. We are still waiting on Ragman and the Cowdocs. I assigned columns to Panzade, Gargamel and Rockhead but they did not actually indicate an intent to play.
As always, anyone on A2K is welcome! The deadline is Thursday evening at 8 pm ET.
Good evening. We are about 48 hours away from the start of the 2009 NFL season. Here, right here on A2K, is a simple game where all you have to do is predict the winning teams. No registration on Yahoo or ESPN. No point spreads. Just pick, by whatever criterion you want, the winners in the games that I post on Tuesdays.
Usually there are 16 games a week. That will drop down to 14 later on as teams are given bye weeks.
We give a big nod of congratulations to the player here who wins the week with the most number of winning picks plus whatever I have to do to break any ties if two or more players finish with identical records.
We have 24 players so far, and since most of us don't know a whole lot about the NFL, it seems unlikely that any of us could win more than one of the 17 week season...unless we -you! - get lucky.
We keep standings. So if player A goes 12-4 in the 1st week, he/she will have a winning % of .750. Player B might go 10-6 for a % of .625. And so on. If a player forgets to pick a game or even misses a week - no problem. The standings are based on the W-L % of games picked.
At some point, however, if a player does appear to have wandered off, I will drop them from the standings. My call. If you don't like it, you can run this.
The schedule for each week is posted on Tuesdays, after the conclusion of the Monday night game that ends the previous week. For the 1st few weeks there is a game on Thursday night. That is a short window for many folks who travel etc. We are supposed to get our picks in for ALL of the games by the start of the Thursday night game. If that is inconvenient, you can just pick that game and come back to pick the rest before the start of the games on Sunday - or just skip it.
We tried posting the schedule for the next week on Sunday, before the games from the prior week had finished. Chaos. Chaos.
We actually had a virtual trophy a few years ago - this is our 6th season - that was awarded to the player with the highest winning % at the end of the season. Totally inappropriate today. Totally.
I'm in this to win.
If I wan't to piss-ball about I know better ways to arrange that.
@Ticomaya,
It's a bit complicated Tico and everybody knows how incoherent my posts are when I try complicated subject matter.
Watch this space on Thursday afternoon for a break-down of my score-card's rows (we are still unanimous about Baltimore and almost so on NE). And then the columns, where ElStud agrees with the majority of us on every game.
Mysteryman, George and Alex, however...
