@ossobuco,
Your picks, Osso, are not at all beyond the pale. With 15 players in, we still are unanimous in one game. There are 4 games in which we divide 14-1.

@realjohnboy,
I should be caught up on learning to use my new computer system (Leopard) by next wee (I get it back Tuesday).. which will enable me to study more and make scads of opinionated errors. Whatever there is this week is from a combo of a quick look at an old set of rankings and sheer bias.

I did not. I just didn't fancy making a list which nobody could say I had missed something.

I can't understand your fixtures list. What do those numbers mean?

Each team's 2008 regular season record.

You and Spendius can get florid elsewhere, I think.

Hey man! I've just read through the thread. There's loads of digressions. You have a few yourself. There's the cabin at the bottom of your patch. There's your freeway non incident. What had those to do with NFL?

And you even admitted digressing somewhere so you could get your "Death Squad" jibe in about the President trying to bring health care to the poor.

Why are you picking on Francis and myself?

You may want to rethink this. Eight is a very uncommon score.

@George,
rjb --- how are you planning on using the score of the final game as a tie-breaker? Are you converting it to total score, choosing the closest score of the winning team, or some other method?

@JPB,
JPB...I was planning on basing the tiebreaker on:
1) Player closest to the total points scored by the two teams. If there is still a tie
2) Player closest to the home team's points. If still tied
3) Player closest to the visiting team's points. If still tied
4) Player with the lower ranking in the standings.
I welcome any suggestions about tiebreakers.

17 players have picked thus far! Among those who expressed an interest in playing, I need picks from Region, LionTamerx, Ragman, Fbaezer, Cowdoc, Mz Cowdoc, JPinMilw, Alex, Rhyss and Panzade.
And of course anyone out there in A2K land is welcome to join in. This thread has had almost 1600 views. There have to be people watching who might be interested in playing.
We are unanimous in picking BALTIMORE over Kansas City.
There are 4 games in which there is just one player out of step:
Clubber has JAX over Indy. He was quite confident about that - saying that Indy is a franchise in a bit of turmoil.
Clubber alone has ST LOUIS over Seattle.
Mysteryman says BUFFALO will beat New England - despite what the rest of us think.
George picks OAKLAND over San Diego. No one else agrees.

@realjohnboy,
It's up to you, but may I suggest you move #2 and #3 into 1) and 2) and your current #1 into 3)?

That way the individual team scores (those things we're picking) matter more than the total. I like your #4 which will help you after week one. Hopefully you won't have to deal with the fact that you already have three folks picking 31-17 and two picking 24-17 for week one.

sorry... occupational hazard...

Rhys's Pieces:

Pittsburgh def Tennessee (could go either way)
Atlanta def Miami (he's a Matt Ryan fan)
Denver def Cincinnati (Cincy had a bad record last seaoson)
Minnesota def Cleveland (Vikes are a better team overall)
Indianapolis def Jacksonville (seems obvious)
New Orleans def Detroit (Detroit never does well)
Tampa def Dallas (personal preference)
Carolina def Philadelphia (Vick)
Baltimore def Kansas City (Cassell is injured)
Houston def NY Jets (doesn't like the Jets much and the Houston kicker is on his fantasy team)
NY Giants def Washington (better record)
Arizona def San Francisco (tough choice)
Seattle def St. Louis (they're both terrible)
Green Bay def Chicago (going out on a limb)
New England def Buffalo (too many reasons to name)
San Diego def Oakland (Rivers is his fantasy team QB)
24-17
