@realjohnboy,
Quote:We embarrassed the ESPN experts.
I'm not sure you should publicise that Johnny. If it gets known A2K will be swamped. Bob might make a killing but the site would lose its intimate charm.
Build a better prediction team and the world will-- it's supposed to-- beat a path to your door.
Do they get paid at this ESPN?
STANDINGS AFTER 12 WEEKS:
1) McGentrix (127-49 .722) sees his lead cut to just 1 game...just 1 game;
2) Spendius (126-50 .716) holds on to a share of 2nd and a shot at 1st;
2) Maporsche does the same;
4) Johnboy (124-52 .705) claims sole possession of 4th but gains no ground;
5) Clubber (122-54 .693) slips a place and falls to 5 games back from 1st;
6) Panzade (121-55 .688) climbs from 7th;
7) Cowdoc (120-56 .682) drops from 6th;
7) Osso picks up a slot from 8th;
9) Fox (119-57 .676) gets a big bounce, rising from 13th;
10) Tico (117-59 .664) slips from 9th;
10) Miz Cowdoc makes the same move;
10) Ragman profits from a good week, rising from 15th;
13) ElStud (116-60 .659) has a mediocre week and drops from 9th;
13) Rhyss sees the same thing happen to him;
13) EhBeth moves up from 15th;
13) Fbaezer does that, too;
17) JPinMilw (105-55 .656) drops from 14th;
18) Liontamerx (115-61 .653) surrenders the 3 spot gain made last week;
18) Region also drops 3 from 15th;
20) JPB (114-62 .647) remains in 20th;
21) Wandeljw (111-65 .630) holds 21st but shakes George;
22) George (109-67 .619) slips from the 21st place tie;
22) Mysteryman quietly moves up another notch;
24) Alex (106-70 .602) sticks in 24th;
25) Jespah (105-71 .596) slips from 24th;
26) Edgar (104-72 .590) has a bad week, drops from 24th but it aint 27th;
27) Lmur (103-73 .585) is in the cellar but is only 1 game back.
The best ESPN guy (123-53 .698) would be in 5th place in our game while the worst expert (114-62 .647) would be tied for 20th with JPB.
@realjohnboy,
He deserves to be tied with JPB. And then spanked. (I'm assuming JPB is a lady of course--we don't want any funny stuff on a NFL thread.)

Yes, Spendius, the ESPN experts are all full-time sports writers for that network, producing a mind-numbing number of articles each week breaking down every match in incredible detail and also appearing on the network's talking-heads programs, where they babble on and on, kind of like this sentence rambles on and on, filling up space and probably wasting a lot of time while really, based on their picking records, they are as clueless as many of the folks here, without naming names, are, which is why I don't have a television and listen to any of them but rather mock them.

I tend to agree with you but am wavering.
Nag me if I don't post in time, but as an old Nagger, I promise to.

Will get the rest to you later.

Yes--but don't they make themselves sound macho and knowing? Not half.
It's the same with everything. Television is a very dangerous experiment I'm afraid. Radio was bad enough. They breed cynicism at the top and gullibility for the rest. Now they are picking pockets. And it's too addictive to risk the withdrawal symptoms.
@spendius,
Post your picks Spendius.

Yeah, we're both deeply into denial.
