I'm back, and entirely football-news ignorant (except that USC got clobbered by Stanford). I don't wanna know the dire results of my two weeks worth of NFL guesses yet, tomorrow will be soon enough for dreary news. I'm just plain excited to have my computer in front of me. I nearly snatched my seat mate's Ipod from him on the airplane ride back to Abq this evening.

I can't keep straight who will win this week if NE holds on or Indy comes back. I see as many as 9 folks still in the race.
I am not sure my tie-breaker system is up for it.
I suggest that, just for verification of identity purposes, yall in contention pm me with your credit card number (+ card expiration date and the 3 number code on the back). Thank you.

Now THAT was a finish! You still can't have my card number, though.

@alex240101,
What was that No 2 doing on the Bengal's long touchdown run? He looked like he was allowing a little old lady to pass first through a doorway.

@George,
I understand, George. I should thank you for continuing to support Chicago in your picks (we were both wrong on that one). Please don't be mad at me for picking Indianapolis for last night's game.

@JPB,

he showed no faith in his D.

so you better make it on 4th and 2 from your own 29, bcos if you don't you are stuck with a D that no longer feels wanted,
and may not give it's best effort...

frig.

Here is what I have set up as being the tiebreakers in the likely event two or more players end up with the best W-L record in a week:
1) Player closest to the winning NFL team's score;
2) Player closest to the losing NFL team's score;
3) Player closest to the home team's score;
4) Player closest to the visiting team's score;
5) Player closest to the two NFL teams' total points scored;
6) Player ranked lower in the standings.

We ended Sunday's games with 3 players at 10-4: Spendius, Maporsche and Mis ("Do you believe in miricles") Cowdoc. All 3 have the Ravens tonight with Spendius picking a final score of 28-18; Maporsche saying it will be 27-10 and Mis Cowdoc thinking 27-21. If Baltimore wins and scores 28 or more Spendius will win. Maporsche have to see 27 or less to get to the 2nd tiebreaker.

@realjohnboy,
I dropped a phrase. Maporsche and Mis Cowdoc have to see Baltimore win and score 27 or fewer to get to the 2nd tiebreaker.

I hear what you are suggesting, Region, about the NE coaches "dissing" their defense. I thought it was a good call. Peyton threw two interceptions early but had engineered two 79-yard drives for TD's in the 4th quarter. The Colts had something like 477 yards of offense with Manning accounting for 375 passing.
The Pats, since Brady was a rookie, had gone 78% or so on 4th down and short attempts.
Not a bad decision but a lot of Monday Morning Quarterbacking.

How Did We Do In Week #10?
As a group, not very well. We ended at 232-173 which works out to an winning rate of .573. That is next to the bottom. We went .551 in Week #2.
Maporsche wins the week based on 2 levels of tiebreakers. He, Spendius and Miz Cowdoc finished with very fine 11-4's. Maporsche becomes the 1st player to win in 2 different weeks.
JPB, Fox and Panzade were right behind at 10-5. McGentrix, Johnboy, Clubber, Cowdoc, JPinMilw, Fbaezer, Ragman, Mysteryman and Alex are in the 9-6 club. Imur, EhBeth, Rhyss and Osso came in at 8-7. Tico, ElStud, Liontamerx, Region, George, Wandeljw, Jespah and Edgar could only manage 7-8 records.
The best ESPN guy went 11-4 while the worst was 8-7.

Let's work on getting a bit smarter in Week #11.

On To The Standing Through 10 Weeks.
Things get a bit tighter at the top.
1) McGentrix (103-41 .716) sees his lead cut in half to just 2 games;
2) Spendius (101-43 .702) stays in his ties for 2nd;
2) Maporsche keeps a share of 2nd;
4) Johnboy (98-46 .681) remains in the 4th place tie;
4) Clubber keeps pace;
6) Tico (96-48 .667) has a bad week and slumps from 4th;
6) Cowdoc moves up one position;
6) Pansade make a nice jump from 10th;
9) Osso (95-49 .660) slips a couple of slots from 7th;
10) ElStud (94-50 .653) falls from 7th;
10) Rhyss stays where he was;
10) Fox gets a nice bounce from 15th;
13) JPinMilw (83-45 .649) gains one spot from 14th;
14) EhBeth (93-51 .646) drops from 12th;
14) Fbaezer moves up from 15th;
14) Ragman does too;
14) Miz Cowdoc get a nice advance from 19th;
18) Liontamerx (92-52 .639) tumbles from 12th;
18) JPB advances from 19th;
20) Region (91-53 .632) slumps from 15th;
21) Wandeljw (89-55 .618) gives up 2 spots from 19th;
21) George matches that;
23) Imur (86-58 .598) stays in 23rd, again and again;
24) Mysteryman (85-59 .591) moves up from 25th;
25) Jespah (84-60 .584) slips from 24th;
25) Alex gets out of the cellar, rising from 27th;
27) Edgar (83-61 .577) falls 2 spots and now lives in the basement.
The best ESPN is at .694 which would put him in 3rd. The worst expert is at .639 which would be good for a share of 18th.
