@realjohnboy,
Google references do help clarify the expression. Out here, we're more used to saying things like "sick as a coyote eatin' buzzard puke". But we're a little more redneck than our friends on the opposite shores, I guess.
@CowDoc,
maybe, but you certainly get the picture with that image. I gotta get back to the game , Im gaggin

By heck you have some long roads over there. How far does W McDowell Road go?
Scottsdale is a rather narrow but long N/S little burg situated adjacent and to the east of Phoenix, and McDowell Rd. is on the south end, and is about as far away a place from my house as you can get and still be in Scottsdale. McDowell stretches from Scottsdale on the east and goes west through Phoenix and past Glendale, about 40 miles I guess.
@realjohnboy,
RJB, didja read my post on seeing football again after all these years? I thought of you while I wrote it since you don't watch tv either, far as I know.
Today's addition to that screed is that my cousins and I watched New Orleans and Atlanta play last night and shut the sound off to shut up Gruden..

I like Gruden. It's Collinsworth I can't stand.
Good afternoon. Perhaps Miz Cowdoc should consider giving up her day job and become an ESPN expert. She finished with a stunning 12-1. The only game she missed was Miami vs the NY Jets. She and Rhyss were the only players to not fall for Tico's malarkey about how good Arizona is. Great week for the Sage of Salmon.
Maporsche did well, finishing at 12-2. He had Arizona and the Jets. McGentrix put together a 10-3 showing.
At 9-4: Alex, George, Panzade, JPinMilw, Cowdoc, Fox and Spendius.
In alphabetical order at 8-5: Wandeljw, Tico, Rhyss, Region, Realjohnboy, Osso, Liontamerx and Clubber.
A bunch at 7-6: Jespah, Edgar, Imur, JPB, Fbaezer, Ragman and ElStud.
Ehbeth and Mysteryman stumbled in at 6-7. They look like they are as sick as a parrot.
The best ESPN guy went 10-3 while the worst was 6-7.
As a group we finished with a correct winning record of .630 which is below our batting average of .661 for the season.
The weekly winners thus far:
(1) Maporsche
(2) Osso
(3) Liontamerx
(4) Region
(5) Cowdoc
(6) Rhyss
(7) Johnboy
(8) Miz Cowdoc
@Ticomaya,
I like Collinsworth...Gruden is in way over his head
Bob Trumpy was the best IMO
@realjohnboy,
It's the overall that matters, not the week...
On to the standings after 8 weeks of this:
(1) McGentrix (84-32 .725) grabs sole possession of 1st;
(2) Spendius (83-33 .716) falls 1 game behind;
(3) Tico (81-35 .699) stays in 3rd but slips to 3 games back;
(3) Johnboy does also;
(3) Maporsche, after a good week, moves up from 9th;
(6) Osso (80-36 .690) hangs on to a share of 6th;
(6) Clubber does also;
(6) ElStud slips from 3rd;
(9) Cowdoc (79-37 .681) remains where he was;
(10) EhBeth (77-39 .664) slumps from 8th;
(10) Ragman drops one place from 9th;
(10) Panzade climbs from 13th;
(10) Fox does also;
(10) Rhyss advances from 12th;
(15) JPinMilw (66-34 .660) steps up from 19th;
(16) Region (76-40 .656) slides a bit from 13th;
(16) Liontamerx does also;
(18) Fbaezer (75-41 .647) tumbles from 13th;
(18) JPB does also;
(18) George gains a bit, rising from 20th;
(21) Wandeljw (74-42 .638) slips from 20th;
(21) Miz Cowdoc, despite a fine week, only climbs from 24th;
(23) Imur (71-45 .612) drops down from 22nd;
(24) Alex (69-47 .595) has company now at the bottom. He is up 3 places;
(24) Jespah stays where she was;
(24) Edgar does also;
(24) Mysteryman slips from 23rd.
The best ESPN dude (81-35 .699) would be in the tie for 3rd here. The worst (73-43 .629) would be in 23rd. I hope he a better writer than he is a picker of games.
Onward and upward!

No!!!
(it will take me at least a month to regain my composure)
The schedule for Week #9 will be up in around 3 hours. I am waiting to hear from Ragman about whether he can do it. If not, I will start to assemble the data.
@realjohnboy,
No problem. I'm on it now.

Cool! (Johnboy leans back and puts his feet up on the desk).
@McGentrix,

Sure is. Neither of the two table-toppers have won a week.
A bit of housekeeping music, please.
Beginning in Week #10 (we are now in #9), we go back to a Thursday night game for the next month or so. We typically post the schedule on Tuesday afternoons which will leave only a narrow window of time for picking.
Here is my plan. On Sunday 11/8, the schedule for Week #10 will be posted. I realize this can create confusion - a schedule for Week #10 before Week #9 is over. Hold off picking, perhaps, unless your work schedule is an issue.
The rule that we must pick all the games before the start of the 1st game will be waived. Folks can pick the Thursday game and come back before kickoff Sunday to pick the rest.
Have I totally messed with everyone's head?
