@realjohnboy,
Here is something you might not have appreciated - from the business world of the NFL. Sunday, of course, belongs to pro football. They expanded to Monday night thanks, in no small part, to one character: Howard Cossell. He was a sportswriter with a grating voice and a take-no-prisoners attitude. People flocked to Monday night football on ABC because of him.
Saturday is college football day. The NFL concedes Saturdays to the NCAA since that is where future NFL players come from.
The NFL would love to have a game on Friday night tv. But Friday is high school football night. Even though many of us haven't been to a high school game since high school, it would be a PR disaster to intrude on that turf.
Colleges (and tv) thought up the notion of Thursday night games, even if it meant that student-athletes might miss 2 or 3 days of school. The NFL piggy-backed on that with Thursday games once the college season wears down.
Any of yall got any plans for Tuesdays and Wednesdays?
