@realjohnboy,
It's a yiddish word that I spelled wrong (it's hazarai). The way I used to hear it used was as something like a whole mess of confounding complications.

I just looked it up, and the first seen explanations are about musical noise.

@realjohnboy,
Bills, Panthers, Falcons, 49ers, Vikings, Steelers, Texans, Bears, Browns, Cowboys, Broncos, Ravens, Chargers, Titans, Cardinals, Jets. (24--13)

Mac, whose picks I have looked at, has 5 different. Colts, Eagles, Patriots, Dolphins and Packers.

So we should get a result if Mac doesn't switch to my selections in order to protect her one game lead and which I would consider unsporting whether the rest of the players do or not.

that's a rude way to talk to ehbeth spendi. You're really showing your Limey arse

In Limeyland when a woman speaks rudely we speak rudely back. We have found that if we don't it doesn't take long before women are speaking rudely all the time. Unless they are wheedling for something.

And she made her grossly intemperate and unladylike remarks when I merely made a "suggestion" which I thought would solve the problem caused by Mac posting that she was going with my picks. It gives an impression that even suggestions are uncalled for in E's company.

Anyway--I thought you had told rjb to stuff his game. Was I mistaken?

Oh good, it won't even be a contest then with those picks.

I was rude to johnny and sent him a PM to apologize; the contents I will post here:

(jb)I'm sorry I got crusty with ya. It's been a lonely and pressure filled holiday season and I've been dealing with it...not very well.
I appreciate your efforts in this game...it sure is a lot of fun.

In any case spendi, I didn't set a good example.

Whatever happens in week 17 it has been a contest. Not only has it been great fun but I have learned to understand the game and have been defending it in the pub.

May the best man win.

@spendius,
And as much as I hate your ramblings about evolution; I'm impressed that you've done so well with what seemed to be a huge disadvantage (being in Europe, not having any history with the game, etc).

I doubt I could pick football/soccer matches nearly as well as you have these football picks.

@maporsche,
Thanks map.

My ramblings as you call them have a certain consistent purpose which I accept is not to everyone's taste or even capable of their acceptance.

The same purpose underlies my contributions on the Trivia threads.

It is not blowing my own trumpet to say that I am very well read on the matters. It is a fact. I have just finished reading Walter Bauer's famous book Orthodoxy and Heresy in Earliest Christianity and nothing has highlighted the sheer ignorance of those others on the evolution threads quite so forcefully as that has.

I think institutionalised atheism would be a disaster and I go into bat against such things. My opponents are half-baked. If that.

But good luck in week 17. You can still win you know. I gather my picks are hopeless. And I won't be changing them.

Nah .... you're a girl. Wink

I'm mainly embarrassed for being in a tie with ehbeth.

She makes her various picks based upon team uniforms, color schemes, biorhythms, and team mascots.

@McGentrix,
You should get Kieron Fallon to ride your finish Mac. He is an expert at making the running, getting caught at the furlong pole, and, having saved a bit, rallying his mount and squeaking home on the wire in a driving finish by a narrow margin.

That's true. No one ever gets my jokes. It doesn't matter though. The only purpose of my jokes is to make myself laugh. Smile
