a little more severe than American football...in the NFL they say: the ground can't cause a fumble.

@panzade,
I should have said, to be more accurate, that the ball has not to touch the grass before the fielder shows he has it under control. Even if it's in his hand.

And he has no mitt with glue pasted on the palm.

What's the most it can cost a team at baseball if a catch is dropped?

@wandeljw,
There were correct picks in the Steelers-Titans game from Wandeljw down through the alphabet to Clubber. Wrong picks from Osso to Alex.
Your one moment of glory, Wandeljw. Savor it.

@realjohnboy,
Think twice before hitting the link to Bella Morte. Or perhaps not.

"Clubber" is Andy. He is an employee of mine and the lead singer in a band that started out as goth/industrial but has now morphed into what he describes as alternative rock. He writes a lot when they are on the road and has recently had his 1st novel published. His 2nd one is in the hands now of his publisher.
They will be touring this fall - mostly on the west coast I think. He follows football closely and said he will try to remember to post his picks.
There is a video of him at a Barnes and Noble doing a reading from "Sticks."
You can also see him performing with the band by clicking "video" on his website. The cover of Earth Angel is a bit of a hoot. www.bellamorte.com

Well-if you drop guys like Hayden used to be it can cost you the match and the series and a lot of money. If you have a game where it doesn't matter all that much and the fielders are using mitts as well you are into a sort of fannying about.

So I was talking to my players today, including the 262 pound RB from the NYG. He and his teammates will be facing a defensive tackle from the Redskins who weighs in at 360 pounds. Albert Haynesworth weighs 360 pounds and he plays football. 360 pounds.

Sounds like Wm "Refrigerator" Perry. He could block two guys simultaneously, but if they got around him he couldn't catch them.

@JPB,
Sorry I didn't reply earlier. It takes up to 10 minutes to get up & running on my computer. (CowDoc lets me use his once in a while.) I lost the 1st game so , the bottom of the heap is comming up fast. Maybe we can fight our way up to the middle of things this year & share first place next year!!
Good to hear from everyone. Miz CowDoc

Good afternoon - or morning or night, depending on where yall are -from the A2K NFL studio here in Virginia where it is cool and partially cloudy.
We are minutes away from a plethora of games: 9 in the early cycle followed by 3 more a few hours later and the Chicago-Green Bay game to end the evening. (Sometimes the NFL will move start times just to mess with me).
In about 4 hours we will have results in and can begin to report on how smart or how not-so-smart the 28 players here are.
Watch this space!
