Eric is just too hot. What the hell is Sookie thinking? I'd totally have invited him in to have passionate primal sex with me. *swoon*

Bill is such a dork.

Great episode! I hope they can keep it up.

The new vampire who met Tara in the bar... who's house did he break into when he found that secret compartment in the drawer? And what was it he found exactly? And how did he get access to the house without being invited in?

@rosborne979,
I thought the pointy toed cowboy booted vampire was entering Bill's house while the girl was out renting a chainsaw. Because he was entering the home of another vampire, I assumed he didn't need to be invited.

That does raise the question of why Bill would have a secret file on sookie, though... And, the family tree of sorts that was the top page before he shuffled further. Hmmm.

I was wondering if he was entering Sookie's Uncle's house (the Uncle that Bill killed in the first season). I was thinking that since it was a dead man's house he didn't need permission to enter.

Yes, and how did the vampire know which drawer had the secret compartment. He seemed to know right where he was going.

Did the dead body that Jessica was trying to get rid of disappear before that vampire entered the (unknown) house, or was it after she found the body missing. If the vampire was indeed entering Bill's house then he might have discovered it and removed it, so I'm wondering if that scene occurred before Jessica discovered the body missing.

I thought the body disappeared between him being in the house and the girl returning, but then I missed the first airing and had to wait until 12:30am to see it. I may have missed something.

I hadn't considered the Uncle's house. But, remember the guy Bill was dining with asking him about his mission in Bon Temp... middle of nowhere for such a powerful vampire? And, Bill saying "no mission" and pointing out that his family home was there? But then, there's the guy finding a secret file in Bill's house... I don't know, due to me being tired when I watched it, if my timing is correct, but that is how the story was unfolding to my understanding.

@squinney,
You may be right about the sequence. I don't remember for sure either.

But if the secret drawer was in Bill's house, then Bill's meeting with Sookie was not a coincidence, and Bill's ancestral home being in Bon Temps is the coincidence.

All of the indications are that there is a power struggle going on at the top of the vampire hierarchy, and if that's the case, then this could be an interesting season.

No, you got the timing right. And your story about him breaking into Bill's and finding the body makes sense too. I was wondering if Jessica might have accidentally made her first vampire, and that that's the resason he was gone. But your story is much more plausible.

Are we sure it was Bill's house that was broken into?

@rosborne979,
No, we're not sure. It's just the most plausible story we heard so far, in my ever-so-humble opinion.

It sounds reasonable to me. But it has dramatic implications for the Sookie/Bill pairing, because if Bill went to Bon Temps to find Sookie and if he knows something about her past through her geneology, then his motivations for being with her will be suspect. And I'm sure Sookie will question his sincerity when she finds out he hasn't been honest with her. I predict a big break-up at the end of this season, giving Eric a chance to slither in. Smile

Did you notice this interesting little detail in the dialogue between Bill and his 1860s wife? She sent their daughter to the Northern States, so she could survive the epidemy that killed all their other other children. For all we know, Bill's great-grandchildren could still be alive---and they'd be in their 90s.

I hadn't thought of that. I wonder if they will use it.

Do we know yet, why the King of Mississippi wants Bill on his "Team"? He went to a lot of trouble to kidnap him and threaten him by threatening Sookie. But I don't think I know his motive yet.

Any why did Bill go nuts in the end of the show and "assault" Lorena? I don't get that. Was that just to give the show's writers an "out" so they can let Sookie hook up with Eric?

Well---the king wants to merge the kingdoms of Mississippi and Louisiana by marrying the queen of Louisiana. The queen has said no. Also, the king thinks the queen of Louisiana has secrets, and that Bill is still working for her. So my guess is that the king wants to blackmail the queen into marrying him.

We are supposed to be in suspense about this behavior over the next week. It's called a "cliff hanger". My guess: Under the king's and Lorena's influence, Bill temporarily foreswears his humanity to do dark, evil, slashy vampire things for a couple of episodes. I expect he will regain it (and Sookie) by the end of the season finale.

The queen does have secrets. Apparently she's selling V (or authorizing Eric to sell it). I wonder why any of them want to do that. They all seem to have enough money already. If they're not financially motivated, then what?

I guess we have to wait two weeks for the next episode. Bummer.

Hmmm, maybe but I'm not sure. How does raping Lorena, twisting her head off and then screaming because she says she loves him, fit into any type of plan? I guess we'll find out. Smile

I never thought I would ever say that, but---that wasn't rape. The bitch wanted it!

rosborne wrote:

He didn't scream because screaming fit into any plan. He screamed because Lorena had frustrated his plan---to live happily ever after with Sookie. Well, not "ever" after, just "until death do us part". But the point is, Lorena frustrated Bill's plans by persuading the King to abduct him from Louisiana.
