The point is that cops shouldn't feel afraid of being shot by anyone out there at any time. Such a constant fear must make a lot of them trigger happy. I guess they think: better safe than sorry.

Then they shouldn't be cops. It's a hard job that requires you to place your own safety over the safety of others. That means you are not just another civilian with a gun and you have to be held to higher standards than the average Joe. If I was afraid to work, I would change jobs.

I think it's universal. There's something stubbornly true about violence begotting violence. If most of the citizens are loaded, the cops will tend to be trigger-happy in their encounters with citizens.

The guy in the article above didn't have a gun though. He exhibited no violent behaviors and was on his own property in his backyard.

Happens to white people too. At the Las Vegas Costco, a white guy legally carrying a concealed weapon was accosted by a store worker who didn't like guns. When the guy with the CCW filed out the store worker started hysterically pointing to him and yelling the police that he was the guy. At least when it's a black guy the police own up to their mistakes and pay compensation to the family. In the case of the white guy, Costco and the police entered into a conspiracy. Costco would hide the surveillance video of the shooting and the police would hide the recording of the 911 call.

To this day the family has received no justice or compensation.

They are trained to fire continuously until the target collapses. If there are multiple police officers firing it can often be more than 40 rounds.

Not really. In countries where most folks ain't carrying guns, cops ain't that nervous and trigger-happy. They can over-react of course but it's less likely lethal.

That would be mainly European countries, and those police a very nervous and heavily armed because of Islamic inspired terror. But a citizen being raped or mugged has nothing to defend themselves with.

They are also trained in threat assessment and reasonable force. This was neither.
