Doubt it - good faith is a conditio sine qua non in all research; besides, there are dozens of such cases in most states.

In that case, it should be a trivial matter for those who wish to introduce such cases into the conversation to provide evidence in support of their anecdotes. Wouldn't you agree?

@Cycloptichorn,
Precisely because it's trivial, most right-thinking posters skip that step altogether; tiny pests may well disagree
@Cycloptichorn,
Cyclo's questioning the true accounts shared here is what is trivial.
Do your own homework.

I'm not sure that your assertions that 'dozens' of these cases actually exist, where people were murdered during the 7-day waiting period. So why skip that step? It will only be trivial if in fact what you and OmSig assert is actually true.
It is immaterial to me if you wish to refer to me as a 'pest;' you've already shown the capacity to be quite rude with no real provocation, so I don't take offense. However, I'm sure you will agree that the burden of proof lies upon those who wish to introduce a comment or data point into the conversation, not those who are responding to it.

@Cycloptichorn,
Cyclo, you are not sure about much these days... if you honestly doubt
the information given, make the effort to prove or disprove it yourself.
Come back with colorful charts and graphs if you must.
Meanwhile... American citizens need to consider arming themselves sooner than later.

The burden lies upon those who introduce 'evidence' to support it, not on the other side, Troll.
It is not my job to spend time disproving anecdotes which were likely made up by the poster; one could spend all day trying to do this and it would be a waste of time.
Instead, I assert that barring actual presented evidence, the anecdote carries no weight and should not be treated as a serious part of the conversation.

@Cycloptichorn,
I viewed a news story a few years ago about a poor woman who boyfriend had not obey court orders and kept tracking her down and threatening to cut her throat one night.
The local police idea of a solution was to give her a device where she could press a button to summon them.
I remember thinking at the time a 45 at her hip would be a far better solution then this electronic device around her neck.
Wonder what happen to the poor lady.

I also wonder what happened to her.
Cycloptichorn
@Cycloptichorn,
Chances are very good that the poor lady was attacked and murdered by her ex boyfriend.
Then again....
Aside from hoodlums and psychopaths, there's always the question of wild animals with a taste for human blood. My brother in fact told me that two or three of the worst cases he ever saw of somebody being messed up in VietNam involved wild boars and not communists.
Granted people living in NY City probably aren't worried about wolves and bears yet but they will be when the rednecks out in Idaho and Montana get tired of leftists releasing wolves out there and start retaliating by releasing them in Central Park...
@gungasnake,
Wolvies are not normally a danger to humans not having any kind of history of veiwing humans as prey.
Jack London novels or not wolf packs are not a great danger to humans, unlike bears and mountain cats for example.
@gungasnake,
Oh as a side note DNA studies had just indicate that dogs broke away from wolves long before modern man had come on the scene and that fact may indicate that dogs and man co-evolved together as hunting partners.

@H2O MAN,
And it is your opinion such a happening is likely in the US with or without gun control?
@BillRM,
It's my opinion that the citizens of the US should do everything in their
collective power to prevent anything like this from happening in the US.
@H2O MAN,
True however that was not my question<grin>.
This woman had a recorded of history of mental illness. She can be seen here just about to shoot her son dead. Nah, no need for gun control.
