Things have been hectic. I've been clicking but not posting as much. mrs. hamburger is very ill, 24 hour nursing care is in the home, the palliative care doctor goes into their home as well. hamburger is busy co-ordinating care. Friends and neighbours are taking food in to him and visiting both of them when mrs hamburger feels up to brief periods of company. In the past week, I've accepted a new job and finished off with the old one. I call the hamburgers and speak to them for about an hour each evening. Busy busy times.

@ehBeth,
Thank You, ehBeth....... And, let us not forget the Canadians who lost their lives during the same wars and battles as we USA'ers

A friend posted on his blog the names and in most cases the pictures of the men who were lost in my company in Vietnam. It brought back many memories. One of the men, Cpt Mark Babson was KIA while I was on R&R in Hawaii. Being a good friend, I had let him borrow a lot of my camera stuff while I would be gone. When a soldier is killed in action, one of the first things done is for another officer to inventory his things and pack it to send back to the family. All my camera stuff went to his family. I didn't say a word.

They were all good men and soldiers. I'm proud to have served my country with them.

during my last conversation with my mother on Sunday, we shared a good laugh about lilacs. Mother loved the scent of lilacs. hamburger and I are wildly allergic to them. One year she brought some in, put them in a vase on the kitchen table. During the meal, hamburger and I started to sneeze, my eyes started to get puffy. Mrs. hamburger wanted that bouquet of lilacs. She stuck a plastic bag over top of them and admired them that way.

This bouquet is in memory of my Mother. She died peacefully and quietly yesterday, with hamburger (my dad) by her side.

Lilacs are in bloom here now.

Clicked.

My Patti found out her gallbladder is functioning only at 10%. She is scheduled to have it removed next Monday. Hopefully, that will relieve her of the pain she has been experiencing.

Good night Wildclickers.

Hugs to all of you, near and far, posting and not posting (but reading and staying in touch).

Danon, I hope Patti finds some good relief from her pain. Best wishes to both of you.
