Dolphin Quest $350.00 per head for 40 minutes with a Dolphin. I think that I will sit on the grass on the knoll and watch for free.

DolphinQuest.org if anyone wants to take a look.

Yitwail suggested another place to eat called the Hualalai Grill at the Four Seasons Hotel in Kona, it sounds really interesting and you can pull the hotel up on the web and check it out Thre food sounds really good. I believe the cusine is from Malaysa.

Did you and Mrs Yitwail check it out Mr. Y.

not yet, but there's still time. anyway, Hualalai 4 Seasons is quite upscale, so i imagine the Grille (that's how they spell it, with the silent e) is not too shabby.

i'm afraid the Hilton Dolphins will have to get along without me, as well.

Hello everyone Smile

The 10th is okay for me, too. Just need to know where and when. I will find an internet cafe and let you know how many of my party will be joining us, if at all.

Ciao, everyone, or should I say "aloha"? Very Happy

Not to worry Mame, there will be a gathering.

It has been raining for days in Hilo. Kona is dry side. I got caught in some flash flooding around Puna. Scary. But it should start clearing this afternoon.

Actually my favorite place to eat in Kona is Killer Tacos in the in the industrial section of Kona. They have something called a longboard, it is a burrito made with kalua pork - it is to die for. I took a dozen with me to El Paso last year and my family loved them.

Aloha Mame

hm, that sounds good. one place we like in the industrial district is the Kona Brewing Company. the downside is it can get quite crowded on weekends, but their Pipeline Porter beer, which actually contains Kona coffee, is pretty neat. Drunk Razz

Hi Mr . Yitwail

Is is raining Kona side? What is the forecast there.

Mame and Company have arrived and have gone out for a bite of lunch
and will be back later. Mame's sister is already having allergy problems of the excessive dampness and molds and they may be looking to come over to the dry side. Is it dry.

"There is a hostel in Capt. Cook (Pineapple Park) which is reasonable. I hear Kona is pretty booked because of the concert.

Any ideas for Kona side????

been out all day, sorry for the late reply. if you're refering to the Alpha Blondy concert, my source says it's only the King Kamehameha hotel that fills up. the Royal Kona Resort, on the same street, might have rooms.

weatherwise, it may sprinkle a bit, depending on where in Kona you are, but it won't rain buckets like it is in Hilo right now. another idea for a cheap kona rental would be a VRBO (vacational rental by owner) at Waikoloa Village, especially if it's a largish party.

an update to an earlier note; i discovered that the Kona KTA store--it's a local supermarket--has that nifty Pipeline Porter beer. even though i'm mostly a non-drinker, i wouldn't mind sharing a libation with the a2k crew. Mr. Green

Sounds great. Hope you don't mind if I bring over some St. Pauli Girl non-alcoholic Laughing

Mame arrived yesterday with her sister, her son and his lovely fiancee. They left this morning for Kona in search of sun. It has not stopped raining in Hilo for over a week.

Mame said she would check in when they get settled in Kona.

I am presently sorting tax documents which will go with me to Kona as my accountant lives there.

Aloha

Well, it's now 8:22 pm, and we're trying to settle into our hotel room at Papakea Resort hotel. Nice, large, unit with two bedrooms and two baths.
Our room even has a washer-dryer in one of the closets. A first for me.

My wife and I took the shuttle bus to the Ala Moana SC this morning in
Waikiki, and walked a bit before we took the shuttle back to our hotel to get ready for the transportation to the airport at 1pm.

The flt from Honolulu to Maui is less than 30-minutes, but,by the time we arrived in Maui, got our car, and drove to our hotel, it was past 6pm. On our way to the hotel, we saw a three car accident, then on road 30, the traffic was stop and go until we got past Lahaina.

Till later. T.

The sun is finally shining here too! Lahaina was crowded with people, as usual for this favorite destination. We had lunch at the Wharf's upstair restaurant, looking down on the crowds. My wife is lounging by the water, reading a book. We're going to relax for the remainder of today. Bye for now.

actually, it's been overcast in Kona, but barely a sprinkle. Cool by the way, i may go for your St. Pauli Girl myself. i've heard good things about it, and i mostly drink in medicinal quantities anyway.

Hi from the gorgeous Wyndham Mauna Loa Resort in Kona. It's beautiful here and the SUN IS OUT!!! This is what we came for...

We went to a luau last night and my son got dragged up on stage to dance with 5 wahine Smile He was a very good sport and the crowd loved it. It was a fun night. Today we're off to Hapuna Beach and then a sunset dinner cruise. I think tomorrow we're golfing somewhere.

Can you tell me the latest about when and where we're hooking up? Or maybe I'll just read the last couple of pages.

Faith - I'm glad you got a little sun Smile Thanks for your wonderful hospitality - the flowers were gorgeous and you're a doll. Best of luck to MA, by the way.

See y'all in a couple of days.

M

Mame and Company

Glad to hear you made it to Kona and settled in. I was concerned about your driving over in that deluge.

Official meeting/dinner will be at the Kona Inn Sunday, 7 pm. I hope you are planning to bring your family. The more, the merrier. Give me your head count.

Hapuna Beach is great.

aloha
