Thanks for the update, dadpad! I'd been wondering. Tell David to hang in there. There are lots of us cancer survivors out here.

@dadpad,
Quote:
All is proceeding to plan at present. David has had his second round of chemo and (according to the oncologist) a lump under his arm feels smaller.
Chemo seems to have an effect for about 3 days then he comes good and the anti nausea drugs make him swell up for a day or so.
3 months of fortnightly chemo doses then a pet scan to see if that has cleared up the cancerouse growth, then a further 3 months to ensure it wont come back,

Sounds pretty positive.
How's your son coping with his (chemo) treatment, dadpad?
And how are you & mumpad holding up?

@dadpad,
Sending your family all the best healthy energy in the universe I can muster.

(Why am I hearing about so many cases of this lately? All of it in young teens.
Very disturbing.)

there is good news and ... less good news
His latest PET scan shows the tumor(s) are gone, however he has tonsilitis and and attendant infection in the nasal passages which means the chemo cannot be continued until the infection is cleared up.
Antibiotics twice a day for a week.
chemo will continue for another 6 weeks.

@dadpad,
At least those "less good news" are just ... not really good news.

All the very best for all of you!
