Yep, colds, etc. are a problem. Sounds like the doctor-type people are on top of it, always a good thing. And yay for shrunken tumors!

@dadpad,
Hey DP

Hoping the antibiotics have rid the tonsils of the 'itis and that he's feeling better.

Healing wishes to Down Under and hoping the next chemo sessions will be the last of the treatments.

Tumours gone... that is the best news.

Next week is the last chemo. Due to a bout of tonsilitis he had to delay some chemo sessions.
Traditional treatment would have been with chemo and radiation therapy However it was the oncologists suggestion that the cancer be treated with just chemo as it was not very advanced.

Because of the delayed chemo treatment the oncologist is now reccomending radiation treatment which means Padders will need to spend 5 weeks at the hospital having daily radiation treatments.
Accomadation is provided at/near the hospital as self contained cottage style living arrangements. Meals ($7.50) can be ordered from the hospital kitchen. They suggest making own breakfats and lunch.
Treatment will be weekdays only and we will pick him up friday night and drop him back monday morning. Appointments for those days will be sceduled around our travel times.

Cost of radiation treatment $5000. We get ($3000 back from medicare)

Accomadation $45 per night, We get $38 back through VIPTAS (State Government patient transport scheme).

@dadpad,
Me, I agree with that, not that I'm an oncologist.

@dadpad,
Excellent, excellent, dapad. And what a relief for all of you.

How's your daughter going? Last I remember she'd found a job in St Kilda & was looking for (very hard to find) accommodation. That was ages ago.
