Another dog I knew that was doberman mix was the swellest guy you ever saw. When you would sit on the couch, he would ease his but up there too. He would sit like that, feet on the floor, as long as you sat there. I always wanted him for my own. When he got very old, he stood on the railroad tracks and was run over by a train. RIP, BJ.

Not always the case, but generally "Redneck" is a label liberals are quite fond of using.

Support capital punishment --- Redneck
Believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God --- Redneck
Unhappy with growing entitlement programs --- Redneck
Think Obama is a lousy president --- Redneck and racist to boot
Enjoy beer and chewing tobacco --- Redneck
Drive a pickup truck --- Redneck
Wear a mullet ---Redneck

Etc, etc, etc

Somehow referring to another American as a "redneck" can be acceptible while referring to them as a "nigger," "kike," "pinko," "fag" etc is not.

Interesting.

Do all liberals sneer at Rednecks? No, but most do.

This is very interesting because what is the Southern "Redneck" but the Southern workingman? Aren't liberals all about the workingman?

Maybe because Unions have had a tough time setting down stakes in the South, the Southern workingman is a figure of derision rather than heroism.

What is really interesting is that the Northern workingman is really quite similar to the Southern workingman and their necks get sun burned as well.

Interesting.

@Finn dAbuzz,
is there a point in there somewhere?

I only ask for if I need to toss another log on to keep the stove warm till I get back to work...

@ossobuco,
No, I think not. I doubt I am witty enough to come up with a team name like "Rappin Rednecks."

@edgarblythe,
Oh, man.

And your description fits. Her (business partner's dobie 1 or 2) did that.

Indeed, we have a2k comedy here... I posted on this, back when I lived in what I then called north north.

We had design projects or potential design projects all over the place and she liked to drive. I was a good driver in my opinion but she was preemptory. Anyway, one day slightly after dawn I dragged myself and my car to the horse barn.. so we could then go to see our clients. I parked, I saw her truck, knew she was feeding her horse, details thereof, got in the passenger seat of her truck and pulled out a paperback in a simple move.

At some point I looked up (you will remember I have poor peripheral vision besides the nightblindness) and saw, poised behind the truck steering wheel, one big doberman, about eighteen inches from me.

He was staring straight ahead.

That'll always be a memory.

Apparently we are spending this New Year's Eve in the very same manner so perhaps you should include yourself in your expression of pity.

Where I live it is 10:39 pm.

I am not attending a party (but then neither are you), however I will shortly join my wife to ring in the New Year.

I truly hope the same is promised to you.

@ossobuco,
Certain dogs want to perform at the level of a human.

The kind that drive me nuts are the ones that hide everything. One little terrier used to hide food under my pillow. Punky, my present dog, will hide virtually anything. I bought her one of those huge bones at Kroger one time. In ten minutes she had it buried. Even she lost it. That was a couple of years ago and I never found it. Paid $6 for a rubber squeaky toy. She buried it.

Oh wait...now I get it.

You had sex with my wife...

Now that's really orignal and funny.

I'm sure a "Redneck" would find you hilarious.

Happy New Year
