@jespah,
You already know this but I'll say it anyway.
EASE back into lifting.
I had to back off when I messed a knee up doing leg presses.
I'm slowly getting back and the knee is doing OK.

Do you use any kind of brace or tape on the wrist?

@George,
I wear a brace at night; it's about the only time I'm not moving it. It's better, though - there was a while there where I would forget and push down on that hand to get up and OW.

Rhys and I did our gym thing last night, thinking they would have the game
on one of the TVs over by the treadmills. They did not. My nerves just
about tolerated last game, so I figured OK, we're recording it at home
anyway. So we did our treadmilling watching the NFL draft. A little better
than paint drying.

When we got back to car and turned on the radio, there were only a few
minutes left in the game and no score. I got to the see the end of
regulation at home and the winning goal in OT.

@Region Philbis,
You've cut 23 minutes off of your time. That's a reduction of over 25%,.

WAY TO GO !!

@ossobuco,

thanx, youse guys.

this 10k (two 5k laps) just doesn't feel the same as the one i do from work, which is more or less a straight shot...

i suppose some day i might try doing a 15k.

to put things in perspective -- those three laps is 9.3 miles.
so i would have to do another 8 1/2 laps (or so) to complete a marathon...

I've been trying to get more distance in my distance running. It's gotten to
the point where I'm only doing runs of less (sometimes much less) than four
miles. And I'm shuffling my way through those.

So three weeks ago I did a "long" run of 5.4 miles. Two weeks ago I did 5.6,
last week, 5.8. And yesterday, yup, 6 whole miles. Yowza. Next week I'm
planning 6.2, ten kilometers.

My pace is still an embarrassment, eleven minutes a mile. But I'm planning
on some improvement there too. We'll see.

@George,
I ran my 3.8 mile route yesterday at a 10:30 pace. That's actually an
improvement. I'll do some cross-training today at lunch and Rhys and I
will do the gym thing after dinner. If you think my running is wimpy,
you should see me at the gym.

@George,
It was a good day for a walk here in Westford -- clouds and sun, mid-seventies
and just a little breeze. I walked "briskly" for forty minutes.

My brisk ain't what it used to be, either.

@Region Philbis,
The problem with accessing A2K from the Widget Factory is that some stuff
is blocked, like photo storage sites. I assume there's a picture in your
reply that I don't see. (Lipton Tea?)

@George,
I didn't get my 10K run in.

On Saturday Rhys and I got our workout on the Sudbury River.
