Remember this memorable Rumsfeld quote: "You go to war with the Army you have. They're not the Army you might want or wish to have at a later time."

Well as the USA TODAY found out. That was a fib.

Pentagon balked at pleas from officers in field for safer vehicles.

Oh wait, they did decide to buy them for the troops. The Iraqi troops that is.

Even as the Pentagon balked at buying MRAPs for U.S. troops, USA TODAY found that the military pushed to buy them for a different fighting force: the Iraqi army. On Dec. 22, 2004 two weeks after President Bush told families of servicemembers that "we're doing everything we possibly can to protect your loved ones"…

Their decision cost a lot of people pain. Except Rummy that is….

JTT, It's no use; those 30 percent of Americans who still support Bush are utterly hopeless humans without any brains. There have already been reports that our soldiers were unnecessarily sacrificed to death and maimming because of inadequate equipment. This information was available from the beginning of this war.

What is most galling is that Bush keeps using the rhetoric; "support our troops." The guy is a mental case madman without any common sense of ethics. He even reduced veteran's benefits and services; and many of our vets now have a co-pay for services. Many are walking our streets with mental illness and homeless.

Those 30 percent will never wake up from their stupor; they're brain dead.

Someone who is so obviously part of that seriously delusional 30% group is hardly in any position to be casting stones. Yes, Congress needs to grow some balls and deal with these criminals tout d'suite.

We can safely assume that those 20 percent who support congress are also the same 30 percent that supports Bush.

Bush is now in Africa giving our money to get praise that he will not get in the US. Bush knows how to throw money away when we're facing a recession, and he's responsible for the high cost of Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

I don't think that conclusion is very brilliant, ci. It wouldn't include me in both, thats for sure.

From Fox News yesterday,

Quote:

GOLER: The president says it's better that African nations deal with African problems. White soldiers in Darfur, he believes, would be targets for all sides.

BUSH: A clear lesson I learned in the museum was that outside forces tend to divide people up inside their country and are unbelievably counterproductive.

The museum was a genocide museum in Darfur.

JEEBUS why couldn't he have visited that museum 5 years ago!!!!!

From the NYT: Waterboarding Is Focus of Justice Dept. Inquiry

I hope they conclude that waterboarding is torture and illegal under domestic and international laws, and prosecute all those who approved it. I have high hopes, but I'm not expecting any action from this "investigation."

"[At his press conference today,] President Bush [had this to say] regarding the incursion of Iraq by Turkey:

"The Turks need to move quickly, achieve their objective, and get out."'

No awareness of any sense of irony reported.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the US supporting the Kurds of northern Iraq?

The Kurds that aren't terrorist want the Turks out.

The Turks will not give a timetable for leaving (sound familiar)?

So who do we support?
