" If we fail to impeach, we have condoned and left unpunished a course of conduct totally inconsistent with the reasonable expectations of the American people. We will have condoned a presidential course of conduct designed to interfere with and obstruct the very process he has sworn to uphold. We will have condoned and left unpunished an abuse of power totally without justification. In short, a power appears to have corrupted. It is a sad period in American history, but I cannot condone what I have heard, I cannot excuse it and I cannot and will not stand still for it."

~ Rep M Caldwell Butler, R-VA, in 1974 on the impeachment of Richard Nixon

Not so long ago, members of Congress put the rule of law above partisan politics and loyalty to the White House.

The US was a different place 30-years ago. We didn't have the likes of Roves and Bush to contend with, and a congress with no mettle.

Don't you miss the good old "Shock 'n' Awe" days when it was okay to drop bombs on foreigners, or torture them without being troubled by concepts like morality?

Reading back through these 'bush supporter' threads is like a twisted trip into the minds of people who are perfectly willing to use the Ends to justify the Means.

Yeah, shock and awe from the president who said "each life is precious!"
Remember when Bush involved the supreme court to interfere in a woman who was brain dead?

Boy, those sure were the days. Hell, back then the Bush people could actually suggest that they were believable and that Mohamed ElBaradei wasn't. People bought it!

But countless floods ripped beneath bridges, camels' backs cracked under the strain, the moon turned blood red, colored people got tortured, and hell froze. Those good old days aren't here any longer.

It's also a pathetic trip into the minds of limp-wristed Euroweenies, willing to sacrifice the national security interests of the United States out of concern for protecting the rights of terrorists and being good "citizens of the world."

What does 'limp-wristed' mean, specifically?

I've seen you use the term before, and I'd like clarification.

No ... but on second thought, it probably was Thomas, and Lola said something that I misunderstood.

Tico apparently believes that the national security interests of the USA are served by bombing foreigners and torturing them.

Yes, bombing and torturing foreigners is paramount to national security.

Less of the "straw man" jibes, Tico, the logic is fairly straightforward even for a corkscrew like you.
Rather than address the issues straightforwardly, you would prefer to throw "limp-wristed weenies" epithets about.
Am I surprised?
